It’s winter time, just a few days away from summer here in the United States. Depending on where you live, it may be very cold, or it might be sunny and warm. When it is the heart of winter, say around February, just about every place in the U.S. is chilly. So now the question is what if you really want to be tan all year long? There has been both good and bad reports about the sun's effect on your skin, but most of the reports are stating that too much is not good. Getting sun onto your skin does help your body make essential vitamins that it can't go without, so you do need it. Anyway, in the winter, it is advisable to maybe go on a vacation to a sunny and warm place for a while so your body can make those vitamins. You should time it so that you only go out in the sun for a little while because too much can cause you to burn and actually do more harm than good. Don't forget to wear some sunglasses when you are in the sun so that you protect your eyes.
The sun is stronger in the summer than in the winter, my grandma used to tell me not to go out in the sun from eleven am to three pm because that is when it is the strongest. I think that is some solid advice. Stay indoors or in the shade between those hours and enjoy the sun when it is not as strong as it can be. Stay in shape by eating healthy foods as much as you can. Don't forget to exercise a few times a week to keep everything nice and healthy.
