  Well, as long as she's forthcoming with her reasoning and doesn't try to hide her reasons, I don't see why she shouldn't do it.  That said, it certainly isn't something I would do ... just because there are too many kooks with diseases out there.  So, that said, hopefully she's requiring a medical check up/history along with her possible suitor.  Just a little thought ... wouldn't it surprise her if a woman bid on it ...   Technically speaking, by being a whore in training (in apprenticeship?) she is a savvy business woman.  Isn't that how it works?  It's the oldest profession in the world, you kow?  But it's a time-sensitive commodity. 
  
  If you ask me, I think the value of virginity is over-inflated (speaking in terms of commodification of sex).  Don't get me wrong...  I understand why such a thing (yes, I called it thing.  Commodification) would appeal to men.  The primary reason probably being that the virgin doesn't know any better, due to the lack of "the" experience. 
  
  If a Muslim gives his life in the name of a jihad, he'll be greeted by 72 virgins...  The monetary value of that would be 216 million dollars... 
  
  Still not worth my life. 
  
  And as for me, I don't believe in paying for sex.  Oh sure, you can argue that we all pay for it one way or another, but you know what I mean...  Turning sex and sexuality into a marketable commodity, people's obsession over youth, the pornographic element of the 24 hour news cycle...  These are all symptoms of a greater ailments in high civilization in the rot. 
  
  This article is a great example of it.  A trifecta of the disagreeable elements of modern living.

  Well personally D6fer, i side with grape, i couldnt/wouldnt ever exchange my body for a lump some of money.  Yes i wish i had a time machine and could kick that asshole in the nuts for tricking me, dirty cherry thief.  But even if i could get my virginity back i would not sell it.  Id save it for my husband.  However if i somehow knew that i wouldnt ever be married, 3 million dollars is a hell of a lot of money.  Its pretty easy to sit here full of morals and reason when its not me who is faced with the decision.  But in reality if i had my virginity and need 3 million dollars, i really dont know what i would do.  I dont believe in selling sex for money and i know it would be morally wrong...but one sin isnt much to pay for that much in return...Ive heard the saying many times before and ill say it for the first time "Anyone can be bought, for the right price"   i think there is some truth to that.  I cant even imagine that amount of money, but i know if someone offered it to me in exchange for something...If that something cannot be resold for 3 million, odds are id give them whatever they wanted.  Goodness, being brutally honest with myself sucks...I guess that makes me a whore out of your two choices.  I really dont think so though, i think it makes me a realist.  It would be stupid for someone to turn down that amount of money, in exchange for almost anything...

  The real issue seems to be the VALUE we put on things and when money drives our decision-making, we usually get what we pay for (even if it turns out to not be what we were really after). Do people really believe that they can purchase real satisfaction, genuine love or a better sense of self (just some of the things I believe are at the root of a lot of behaviour)?? I am not suggesting that we should not seek pleasure because I think it's one of the greatest joys of living BUT I think we should know the difference and not fool ourselves about what need it is we are trying to get met. Does the MEANS justify the end or does the END justify the means?? The "internet saleswoman" has sold something she can never get back at ANY price so..........................if it was an informed decision she is willing to make, then as I said, she get's what she pays for and will spend the rest of her life with that decision. It comes down to how you view your self and what you value. What she is selling does mean something different to the typical male than it does to the typical female. SEX and LOVE, how they are different, you certainly can buy sex but I don't think you can buy love. Saddly, all that is often available to some people is sex when what they may find more meaningful is love.

  Well said solar.....I think that well sums up one of he biggest problems our society faces today....we have made sex such a non issue anymore that it has cheapened it's value in my opinion.....virginity used to be something that girls valued (despite what some segments of society will have you believe) and the dividend to that value was less STDs, less unplanned pregnancies, and stronger, longer lasting relationships.....It was in fact a sacrifice that the females of our species had to bear for the most part....but was nonetheless important to the health and well being of our society......I don't know if that value will ever be realized again, but I sure hope so.

  It does seem sad that so many people struggle with these issues and it's understandable given the lack of support within the basic fabric of current society and a general celebration of all the superficial aspect s of life. I, too, hope we can make a major shift that will create a better opportunity for all to achieve a more lasting and substantive life experience. Interestingly, the current economic difficulties are causing some to rethink their priorieties. Does that then suggest that as long as there is enough wealth for people to access they find it more challanging to make the choices leading to a more meaningful life??  Even some public policy supports moving toward the achievement of wealth and power rather than the pursuit of other more personally substantive aspects of life.

  Yes but public policy cannot control personal responsibility.....and that is what this is really all about isn't it? Americans need to start getting back to basics in that respect.
