I was reading and studying the word to find encouragement for my husband.  He is in Oklahoma now, as you may remember.  I am already working in "the ministry", but I hope to serve in this ministry soon, WITH my husband.

He is in a jail in another state.  Once again, he was taken to a hearing without an attorney present to speak up for him.  He is not allowed to speak for himself in front of a judge.  So, since he had no one to speak for him, they raised his bond again, on frivolous and contrived statements that can only "appear as facts".  Still based upon him being a "fugitive" instead of the truth, that we were homeless.

Anyway, this was not the intent of my blog, so I will refrain from a personal rant.  I want to share something with you about "FOREVER".

Can you conceive of that?  Forever?

What does that mean to you, personally?  What is it in your life, your heart, your mind, your understanding, that helps you to comprehend...to lay a hold of, "Forever"?

After I have a few comments on this...I'll share with you what I found, and it relates to our current world affairs...specifically, with the United States of America, for those of us that are Americans.  But it is true for the whole world, every nation, and every single person everywhere on this planet.

It isn't what you might think either.  I doubt that you have heard a lot about this topic, even if you are a Christian.  Few preach on it.  It is often avoided because it is shrouded with much mystery.

Let's see what kind of discussion we can engage ourselves in here, shall we?

Truth, its a tough question to answer, how one perceives forever or eternal can be so knife edge.  Words for instance have little ability to convey even the word itself.
  • fearing said on Jan 11, 2009....
I think about the word "forever" often.  I think about it especially when I'm unhappy with this life.

I just got back from church.  Wow.  Powerful service.  Guess what the topic was?  No, not "forever", it was all about The Truth.  Telling ourselves and everyone else the truth, no matter what, as if your very soul depends on it...which, as you know, it does.  Avoiding the deceiving spirits and lying spirits.  How uncanny.  This is why I am so hard on myself...why I repeatedly, daily ask the Lord to search my heart.  Why I repent of unrighteousness every single time I become aware of it...or every single time I "admit" to it.  Wow.

Anyway ladies...thank you so much for taking a stab at this topic.  Forever is a word that we use all the time, but how do we "comprehend" or "apprehend" its meaning?  It is a concept, for sure...but how do we understand it?

Can you give me some examples of "forever" in your life, your understanding?

    Your fellow-think-buddie,

Whoa...I think my blog is a great example of those who are last might be first and those who are first, might be last ; )  I just commented...six hours ago.  Fearing just commented before me, four hours ago...and Lucy?  Well, she commented first, only two hours ago!  ; P

Hi truth, for me "forever" means eternity, infinite.  In my own life, my soul will live on forever, there is no ending or beginning..... it just "is". The body my soul chose to house itself in will pass on and die but my soul will go on and one day when my soul has learned what it needs I will be free to go "home" forever... that is what it means to me.

Webster's New World College Dictionary, Fourth Edition, "The Official Dictionary of the ASSOCIATED PRESS," says:

forever, adv.  1. for eternity; for always, endlessly  2. at all times; always ---n. (informal) a period of time that seems to have no end.

Does that help you at all?

Wow.  Posting is really weird on here now.  I waited and waited for that to post.  Then it just stopped without posting...okay...it LOOKED like it hadn't posted!  I think SC has entered a worm hole!

Yes quietone.  That is how most people including the namesake of Mr. Webster would define it.  Where is home then, in the scope of eternity?

Sorry I got lost in neg-time...I am here now, hope you are too quietone : )

All Life, the entire Universe is Eternity... ´Forever´. Science has demonstrated that all matter is energy & that energy does not die. Matter consists of atoms & atoms consist of protons, neutrons & electrons. The ´Periodic Table´ of elements demostrates that the only difference between atoms is the number of protons, neutrons & electrons they contain. The is no difference between a proton in a hydrogen atom & a proton in a carbon atom. Therefore, protons, neutrons & electrons are the foundation of all matter. The human body is comprised of atoms.

So matter is energy & energy does not die... what then is human death? ... death is merely the transformation of energy from one form to another. The carbon in the body of a human becomes the carbon in the soil or a tree, the calcium becomes the bones of an animal or the shell of a crab.

That is Eternity... & to discover it I used the human brain, created & evolved by Life... I didn´t need the bible or to give my Life to Jesus Christ...

madstorm- I think your comment looks pretty.

Anyway... So you believe in chance? You believe that these infinite universes just happened? Wow, I wish I had the kinda faith you have!

You do know that if even the slightest imbalance in any anything in this delicately balanced groups of different forms of energy would have never been a universe in the first place, right?

I'll bet you wanna be my evolution guru, don't 'cha?

    LOL...boy, this was interesting.

Hey madstorm...I hear your passion and zeal, but I have to disagree with you, of course.  For me, science is full of proof of God as Creator, Designer, Architect, and also, my Father, my Savior, my Lord.  I love to study science...but I do not worship it.  I worship God, and I know God.  Jesus is my Teacher and the Great Physician.  But you already know that is my understanding of the world.  I love classical, modern and quantum physics.  I love them and I study them with the Lord.  (((SHREEK!!!)))   Calm down now madstorm.  You just don't know what I know.  That's okay.  We can disagree.  You are on a different road.  But at least we agree on one thing:  Energy cannot be created or destroyed, by us, here, in this earthly, natural realm.  Right?

    Truth : )

Hey SacDarwinist!  Long time no see!  You are a funny guy, you know it?  : )  I love your nickname and your sense of humor...but what you said is true too.  Thanks for joining into the conversation.  Did you think about what forever means to you?

    Truth : )

BBGood.  Welcome back.  How about you?  What does forever mean to you?  Thanks for commenting.  I await your response.

    Truth : )

    CreativeWoman:

How are you?  I too attribute "forever" to eternal life.  How about Love, is that eternal?  Not a human type of love, but the kind of Love that Powers the universe?  I am sorry about your grief, but I know you will do whatever you need to do.  That is your quiet strength...the Joy that can never be taken from you, that is what you are secure in.  Perhaps that is a forever thing too, being that it is not based upon our circumstances.  Yes?  Thank you for sharing here.

I will write more about all of this tomorrow, perhaps in the evening.

    Blessings,

    Truth

It´s always interesting how people jump to conclusions... please read my username description & then you will see I am neither Darwinist, Evolutionist, Scientist, theist or Athiest... fundamentally I am an open-minded human being, something that encompasses ALL the ´isms´ yet doesn´t specialise in ANY of them.

I also know the Bible inside out...

"And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven". - Genesis 1:20.

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so." Genesis 1:24.

That is Evolution my friends... it says "let the Earth bring forth" & "let the waters bring forth" ... it does not say "And on the 3rd day God created a Giraffe"

So who needs the theories of Charles Darwin & Professor Richard Dawkins?!? ...  it is right there in the Bible!!?!!

Evolution is merely a theory that explains the development & adaptation of life & that is all it explains. It would be pretty stupid if animals, plants etc were not able to adapt to changing environmental conditions. But Evolution does not explain the origin of Life itself.

In the beginning there is only God... there was no physical matter. God then created matter, Life & the Universe from itself. Life then, ALL Life is God.

Do you understand what that means?...  ALL Life is sacred... & we are destroying it...

  • CreativeWoman said on Jan 13, 2009....
    Truth,
I think emotions ebb and flow in regards to love in human form.  On a spiritual level, I do believe love is part of everlasting life.

Maybe SC gave me a shot of the Fountain Of Youth when I commented earlier.  :-)

    Madstorm...
When was genesis written? And how would have the people that wrote the book of genesis have known the origins of all life without God, a higher being?
  • madstorm said on Jan 15, 2009....

Hey SacDarwinist... can you read? or are you illiterate? ... or do you only see what you want to see? ... it´s only a question... no offence intended... because my comments are very clear... read them again & all will become clear...

Who cares when Genesis was written? ... does it matter?

a wormhole wouldn't create a "vortex" that something might get screwed up in. more than likely your screwed up post is approaching the horizon of a singularity and is being displaced. or torn apart into shreds. or maybe your posts have been quantum tunneling. a wormhole denotes a "shortcut" to another place that is far away in which time doesn't exist, so to you, the observer, your messed up posts would magically show up the second the "post" button was clicked on somewhere completely different.

Here is my observation, proved out by our very own comments.  Some of us can conceive of the term "forever", some cannot.  The way we understand that concept, determines all of our other perceptions.  We are eternal beings.  Even if the only "faith" you can muster is that we will return to the earth to become compost for other life...until it dies, etc.

Those of us that can conceive of eternity and perceive our immortal soul, have to walk a different path than the rest of you.  I am accountable for what I understand...and also, for what I refuse to understand or choose to ignore.  So are you.

I had my last "exchange" with kelly on a different blog.  I don't see any reason to waste my time on him anymore.  He will always, and I mean ALWAYS, use my faith as an excuse to avoid anything else that I am saying, that he simply wants to avoid, or ignore.

Like I told him, that is his choice.

    But, I ask you this:

Is there anything in the dictionary, in any dictionary, encyclopedia, or other body of knowledge that has any idea, principle, person, place or thing...including any entity, that is ETERNAL?  Forever?  ANYTHING????  Any discussion that is, that does not have to do with spirituality, philosophy or religion.

No.  Nothing.  You will not find anything that is in science or that is secular that will ever refer to anything or anyone as being eternal, lasting in a meaningful way, forever.  Maybe you will say, "energy" which cannot be created or destroyed, but only transformed, or transacted.  I tell you this...if it were not for spirituality, philosophy and religion, and the way our minds are "hardwired" to seek knowledge, understanding and the Truth, you will not find any use for the words eternity, eternal, or forever.

If there is no God, no Creator, no purpose to our existance, then why would we care?  What purpose would our consciousness serve?  Why would we want to live?  Do we make "life" better?  Clearly not.  We have nearly destroyed our planet, our environments, our ecosystems, and each other.  No, we exist for a purpose.  All life exists for a purpose.  Forever exists.  We are eternal, in whatever way you can grasp that, we are eternal.

Where do we go from here; individually, collectively, as a nation?  How can we continue on our present course to eternity, and expect things to go well for us in America, in "humanity", if we cannot perceive of one simple word, and our relationship to it?  Forever.  Eternity.  God.

Go ahead.  Give me another term for that which never ends...and I mean, NEVER ENDS...and tell me in what frame of reference can you understand it, that has nothing to do with spirituality, philosophy or religion.  I would love to find it.  This isn't me telling you how great my understanding is...this is me doing my best to share a new revelation with you.

I know my wording sounds awkward, because this is newly formed in me...at least, in this way.  I have seen a difference in the way we perceive things, and you see, perception is everything.

I'm thinking out loud here friends.  Be thoughtful.  Be kind.  But tell me.  Do these words that we use so frequently, eternity or eternal, and forever have any REAL MEANING to you today, in your "real life"?  Where are you now, in relationship to your "forever"?

    SELAH,
