Day 6 - the search goes on,I am getting some 'reliable' info on the whereabouts of my dog.I am going to keep looking and i am not going to stop until i find him
I got a tip yesterday that he may be in an area that is about 4 kms away from where my inlaws live.I am familiar with the area as it was one of my old running routes that i used to train on.So i decided that i would run it again today,sore leg or not,I didnt care.
It is a 17km route,and i finished it in about an hour and a half - not bad,but far from my best.
It was uneventful for the most part.I saw about 7 or so dogs that looked like him,but couldnt get close enough without causing suspicion.I mean it was suspicious enough that i was a white guy running through a predominantly indian area,for the first time in a long time.
I got about three quarters of the way along the route and i ended up in an area that can be best decribed as a slum area.Run down old railway houses,and over populated.
This is an area that i know is pretty much as no go area on a good day - but i kept on running and wanted to high tail it out of there as quick as i could.I had one or two bad experiences previously in the old days,and it looked like the neighbourhood has not changed.
There were a lot of people around,staring as they normally do 'oh look,there is a white guy - i think he is lost,and if he isnt,I think he wishes he was' were just some of the comments that were thrown my way.A lot of insults in african slang,which i ignored and just kept running.
Suddenly this asshole takes out his pistol and takes aim.I guess it was lucky for me that he had a bottle of whiskey in his other hand.He took 3 shots at me,and missed all 3.A little hard to hit a moving target when you are trying to finish a bottle of whiskey and blame the white people of this country for your present situation.
Its always the white people in this country who get blamed when the other races cant get their own lives straight.It is always the white people who are to blame when they come to work late all the time and come to work drunk the rest of the time and get fired as a result,and now cannot afford to feed their 6 children as a result.Its always the white people who are to blame when you are not prepared to send your wife off to work to earn her pwn money and be independant and live her own life,it is always the white people who are the ones who made you the jealous pig that you are,and you are convinced that if you let your wife out of your sight for more than ten minutes she will have an affair with the nearest decent human being.
Why dont you do all us white folk here a huge favour and take that same stolen pistol that you used to shoot at me with,and stick it down your own throat and pull the trigger.?
Oh,I forgot,you dont have the balls,and any way
it will be the white peoples fault when you cant do THAT right either

CJ, wow, well sorry that you still haven't found your pup and that you were shot at in the process! I'm happy that you're ok, that the drunkard missed. The racism thing really is getting old, in my opinion. People need to start owning up their own faults instead of blaming it on the color of their skin. If you work hard and find ways around those rocky points, you will get what you want out of life. If you want to be a lazy ass and blame others, well, you don't deserve all those good things you want anyway. -

Yeah, I thought about it after and I am not quite sure what to make of it either. But basically most crime committed by foreigners in Japan is by Chinese these days so even though the news always says "foreigners" and most people still imagine "foreigners" to mean "white people in Japan" or even "Americans", I as a white person am off the hook because everyone believes that "crime" and "foreigner" in the same sentence usually means "Chinese foreigners." So that's what I meant when I said in Japan they blame the Chinese. They don't blame white people for most crimes committed by foreigners.
Yes, it was way off on a tangent. I jumped from a branch to another tree. Sorry about the confusion. You post was suely interesting though. It reminds me that I live in another world basically. One where guns are only on TV and on American border guards when I cross from Canada to the US (when I go home that is - but that's another story).
