I don’t have a car. I am part of the greater majority of the population that doesn’t own a personal car.
A car is not a necessity in our country, where we have lots of public transport vehicles available—we have the bus, the jeepney, the tricycle, the bicycle, the calesa, the habal-habal…etc. Whatever moves is used for transportation—just to get people anywhere and everywhere in any of our 7,107 islands.
Anyway, a local shampoo brand launched a promo. The mechanics are: When one opens a sachet, there are freebies and discounts inside. Yes, our shampoos also come in sachets. We’re in the Third World, remember?
Anyway, the major prize is a pink Honda Jazz. I dunno why I became obsessed with that car. I’m not sure it’s even the color that got me, as my favorites are blue and yellow. I’m not even sure if Honda is a good brand and Jazz is a good model (I’m moronic when it comes to cars).
I’ve always said that unless I am really brimming with affluence, I wouldn’t get a car with all the maintenance and the rising costs of fuel—I wouldn’t be able to afford keeping one, even if I afford buying one.
But I dunno, why recently I’m hung up on getting that Pink Honda Jazz. I have been using this shampoo brand, but now I’ve been buying more than my fair share with the hope that the next time I open one, it will contain the words: You Just Won 1 Honda Jazz!
So far I have opened 5 sachets and nothing still…I’ll keep you posted!
