Craft catalogs keep coming in the mail and they are hard for me to resist.  Each page I turn seems to have something I want to try and make.  I can't help myself.

I'm especially drawn to things that are made with yarn or that can be hand sewn.  There are afghan patterns and cross stitch projects that make me squeal with glee.

The problem I have is picking which one I want to try.  I try to limit myself because I don't really have extra space in my house to store things and to be honest, there are a few projects I could conjure up from some supplies I have on hand.

But...

But..

I want to try something new!  I want to create something I haven't tried before!

The up side is that I usually give away my creations as gifts.  I''m thinking I might put some things on eBay if I ever get in gear and get a few things made.

I need to do something with my lonely time besides staring at the computer screen or snacking on carb filled things that try to seduce me into the kitchen.

So, I think I'll look through this new awesome craft catalog this evening about a zillion times and see if I can narrow it down to one or maybe two projects.

Do you have any hobby or craft projects going?

I have a bracelette I've haven't finished for about a month now and a scarf I'm knitting that's about 1/2 way done.  They tend to linger.

Have you ever gone to etsy.com?  It is only for handmade things.  I love it!  I buy and have sold stuff on etsy.

I wish I got craft catalogs.  I have been hankering to sew.  I have a machine but can't figure it out and right now don't have a place to set it up.  This past Christmas I made handmade felt gingerbread man and woman ornaments.  They turned out hilariously stupid because I didn't even know how to do a blanket stitch.  My first one looked like he was commiting suicide, LOL.  They were a lot of fun to make though and I am going to make more felt sewen and embroidered stuff.

I also have an idea for snowmen too.  Just need to get it planned out before I start cutting.

Now that my eyesight is going I'd like to start x-stitching again too.  Figures but while cleaning I came across some old x-stitch booklets I never made and really really want to do so.

Lol, Im like that. I see new projects I want to try and get really carried away because everything seems like such a good idea. Have you tried fabric origami? I did it for my degree show after reading books on it and I really loved it and it looks great if you're making quilts or bags especially with patchwork projects too. At the moment Im loving quilling, its so delicate and dainty.

    fraggles,
My favorite things are my lap knitting looms, but I'm wanting to try something just a little different.  Thanks for checking out my other blog.

    uniquely,
You've been very busy with your move and such.  What kind of bracelets do you make?

    Christine,
I have heard of etsy, but I've never sold anything there.  I will have to check it out.  Maybe your next felt project will be better.  :-)  Practice makes perfect.

    pinkice,
I've never tried fabric origami.  It sounds really interesting.  I will have to check that out.  Quilling is very pretty.  Do you use it for greeting cards?

CW. I am happy to report that this is one addiction I don't have. I'm not very crafty at all though I enjoy seeing the clever things people do. I do know that you making beautiful/clever things is better than raiding the kitchen.

    woman,
You are right about the kitchen.  I try to stay out of there after supper is over.  It has an allure if I don't keep my hands busy.

Now you're talking my language, CDub!  I love craft catalogs!

I'm right in the middle of making 10 little quilts for Mamie to sell for her cancer charity, and I have about a million other projects going.  I've been knitting some, and swearing at it, and lately I've been hearing cross stitching calling my name.

I registered at etsy a while back with the idea of selling but so far that's as far as I've gotten.  It's a very cool site, and if you want the name of a seller who has some really creative projects, let me know.  I've spent some time looking at the quilts for sale there, and the price ranges are pretty wide, for the same size of quilt.  It's interesting the different values crafters place on their creations.

Oh, and uni makes awesome bracelets.  I've gotten lots of compliments on the one she sent me.

Yes I use it for cards and for decorating little boxes, making frames etc also looking at 3d designs using the quilled paper shapes and cocktail sticks!

Instructables is my craft weakness online. So many odd and interesting things to make!

I love to sew. My current project is a pocket vest.

No craft weaknesses here ... I'm more stuck on writing or redecorating/reorganizing rooms.  Even now I'm sitting here thinking of how I could make this den more comfortable, easy on the eyes and relaxing.  I think you've got the right idea by limiting yourself to one or two new projects.  Also, selling the stuff on eBay is a good idea too ... it'd be more incentive to do the stuff, especially if you make a fair amount off of any of it.

    Mimi,
I would like the name of that seller at etsy.  I think I'm going to check that site out very soon.  I always hear such good things about it.

It's really cool that you are making quilts for Mamie's charity auction.  :-)

    pinkice,
There was a quilling set in my last catalog.  It looks like fun.

    Expendable,
I went to that site and checked it out.  Cool stuff!  Will you post a picture of the vest when it is done?

    Hegemone,
It would be a nice little side gig if I made money off of my crafting.  That's for sure.  I'm not a very good decorator though.  I'm sure you outshine me there.
