My husband is an epileptic diabetic. He takes meds for both. Well for the last couple of months actually since last year even with the help of medication he has been having seziures in the bathroom in the morning after waking. One involved a nasty 3rd degree burn he obtained while home with the kids. He is a big guy and my son heard him go down. With his body blocking the door he couldn't get to him so he waited till he came out of it.

He took his youngest brothers in my bedroom calmly dressed them and waited for my husband to come to. Another time my husband hit his head on the pavement in the bathroom. The tile was imprinted in his forehead and he had an open gash that required stitches and the next time he hit the back of his head got stitches and a concussion. Then another time he was bathing my son in the tube and began to seize and fell in and my oldest got my small son out of the tub and pulled my husband out enough so he wouldn't drown.

A month ago was the last seizure and it was again in the tub while he was taking a shower. My husband usually lets out a yelp before he goes down into one. I heard him go down and when I get to the bathroom he was seizing banging his head into the toilet. I pulled him over enough so his head was no longer hitting the toilet and that was alot b/c my husband is 230lbs. A big guy indeed. My heart goes out to John Travolta as I know what it's like to have a loved one with seizure disorder. I know what it's like to have them miss 1pill and end up on the floor. I know what it's like when the medicine doesn't work anymore and they have to keep going up on the levels.

This is one of my worst nightmares and to add to it that my sons would some how see it. GodBless him and his family and all of those that care for an ill loved one as your hands are full.

    Oh, HH, bless your heart.  That must be very stressful for all of you.  And frightening.  I hope your husband's medication can be adjusted so his seizures don't happen as often.  {{{hugs}}}

    One of my daughters has a seizure disorder and it was difficult to handle and control for a long time. Many tests, drug trials, and just experimenting but the drs were finally able to get things under control so that she is mostly seizure free. I hope that your husaband's doctors work with him until they find the right drug and the right dose. They usually can. I am so sorry he has to go through this.
