I know I promısed to wrıte more storıes for you but as ıt turns out, Im on the road agaın, so ıt may be another month before I do any sıgnıfıcant postıng, but I just wanted to let you know what I'm up to. At the moment, I'm ın Istanbul, hence the lack of dots over my ı's. I'll be here for a few days and then I fly to Italy where I'll be attendıng the fırst sessıon of a three year esoterıc course called the Mystery School at the Damanhur communıty whıch I have been wantıng to vısıt for many years. The course ıncludes topıcs lıke Astral Travel and Spırıtual Physıcs, topıcs that have become ıncreasıngly ınterestıng to me lately. I'm hopıng to become much more ınvolved wtıh thıs communıty ın the future. Check out the lınks I pasted above. It's pretty fascınatıng stuff.
After the course ıs over, I'm goıng to the Canary Islands as a travel companıon and ınterpreter for an elderly Italıan man who doesn't want to travel alone for health reasons. He's a photographer (whom I have met a couple of tımes before) so the trıp would have provıded a lot of cool photos, but dunderhead that ı am, ı forgot the adaptor for my camera's battery charger at home. :(
Then, I'm goıng to swıng by Prague to pıck up some of the stuff I left behınd, and hopefully talk Fanny Farmer ınto takıng the traın back to Turkey wıth me to help carry my stuff. She saıd she wanted to, but she does have a habıt of changıng her mınd, so I won't count on ıt, but I'll welcome ıt ıf ıt happens.
Meanwhıle, back ın Bartın, we moved house yesterday, and that ıs a blog post ın ıtself, but the long and the short of ıt ıs that the new place, although somewhat ınconvenıently located, ıs much much nıcer and much much bıgger than where we just came from, so ıt's all good.
I wıll try to pop ınto an ınternet cafe from tıme to tıme durıng the month to let you know about anythıng ınterestıng that,s happenıng, but ıf you don,t hear from me for a whıle, just assume that ıt,s all ınterestıng and all good.

You think you're so smart. While you are in Istanbul, flying to Italy for a neat course, going to the Canary Islands, "swinging by " Prague, and then taking a train back to Turkey (**whew**), my wife is flying to Albuquerque and I'll take a three hour drive in the desert in the next month. Try to top that!
...I'm confused. If you use your lap top, which I thought you did, why would being in Turkey remove dots from i's?

i found Instanbul to be the most frightening airport in my travels. they took me into many little rooms and had women feeling me up etc...the men that searched me prior to the woman looked at me with hatred. I was happy to get back to Maui where we have the most corrupt police dept in the US (according to Dateline NBC).
a note about astrol travel
if you could travel in that same manner with your physical body would you? from my studies, the act of astrol travel is not only dangerous it is an insult to the physical form. Every thing that I have studied since I was 17 was toward free flight
and
now that I understand the pattens of electromagnetism as relates to our spiritual/physical capacities, I would never willingly separate my electric body from my magnetic body (i relate to Spirit as the Electric and the Body as the Magnetic component).
Most of the elder esoteric teachers that I have met have physical maladies...so, I'm wondering what they have to offer other than denying the body in favor of spirituality. yesss, I know I am being negative about the things you are inspired about, but I care deeply about health and feel as though the New Age community has passed around some illusions - many get paid to do so

You always make my mind just hearing about your travels. It almost seems beyond the capabilities of most of us. Certainly myself. But it's wonderful. I have the a lovely scarf from Istanbul. It is drapped across a chair in my entrance way so I can see it each day. You know, chair art! smile It was given to me from my dear friend in Guatemala. She traveled there last year, it was a trip she had dramed of for years. Have a wonderful time but do throw a touch of caution into all of this. Just a touch. woman -

beyond: Wow! A three hour drive in the desert. I can't top that, but I can equal it. The Canary Islands are sort of a desert, albeit a volcanic one. Lots of cactus anyway. Being in Istanbul removed the dots from my i's because I was at an internet cafe using a Turkish keyboard, and their undotted i is in the same place as our dotted i, and I was too lazy to shift every time I wanted to type an i. Get it?

Lucy: I inherited millions from a long lost uncle. Just kidding. I merely sold my house at a windfall profit (thank god for artificially high real estate prices) and invested the dough, living (very cheaply) off the interest. Unfortunately, my investment matured in November, and said dough is no longer invested, so I'm digging into the principal, but it feels safer than re-investing at the moment, and I can survive in Turkey on less than $140 a month.
andora: Hmmm, your experiences in Turkey were the exact opposite of everything I've experienced there. I guess I'll just keep a positive vibration going on about it and enjoy. Regarding astral travel, the body is a temporary tool that our mind/spirit uses while it's visiting this planet. Yes, there are dangers to astral travel, such as not being able to get back into your body, but we were taught how to do it safely, and for those who want added protection, they can use selfic technology to ensure a safe return. The purpose of astral travel is not mere sightseeing, but to gather information from the astral plane to help the evolution of humankind. That's a pretty brief explanation, but I'm too hungry to go into it more right now.
