well, it STARTED out as a collection of things you wanted to save. and so...you pasted them into an album.
it could be anything. theatre programs, christmas cards, party invitations, movie tickets, etc. etc. etc.
now it's mostly photos and it's gotten REALLY REALLY commercialized. and even though it is a creative thing....most of the scrapbooks i've seen now are really really similar
Fally....thanks, I have often wondered what this scrapbooking is! Sounds interesting, certainly the grand kids should find it so in years to come. Commercialized.....thats what seems to happen to anything that becomes popular!
Fally.......they were the "good old days" - hey? Your frandkids will look at your books and say "Wow, look what it was like in the olden days when gran was young!" Everything a buck might be wrung out of has been commercialized now!
I have an even weirder version of this great American hobby...I buy all the supplies and put the stuff on a table so I can make the books...take all the pictures so that I have cool memories for the books....they are in bags on the same table. But the two piles never meet:)) and then company comes and I have to stuff them all into a closet. Then the next bag goes on top of that...etc, etc. etc. Maybe I have issues?
I saw an ad on TV for a kit. I thought the idea of buying a kit to do scrapbooking sort of defeated the whole idea. Some people just can't leave things alone and try to make money off the silliest things.
