So after picking up George at the office I decided to take him to go see the bay and stretch his legs. (oh wait, he doesn't have any!)  Errrr, to see the bay then.  I headed out to the bayside trail that I used to live near.  The closer I got to it the thicker the fog was.  We bundled up and took a long walk.

It was pretty chilly, so afterwards I took him to my favorite bookstore.  We grabbed some coffee and I took him upstairs to show him a series of books that I thought he might be interested in.

He thought it was funny much to my relief.  Sometimes I take a joke too far.  We browsed the store for a while but then became hungry for a bite to eat.  I think the trip was long for George, I heard his stomach growl.  (wait! he doesn't have a stomach!)  Er .... he told me he was hungry.

We headed down to McDonalds for a late lunch.  I would have taken him some place nicer, but he's not independantly wealthy, doesn't have a job either, so we were counting on my budget.  He didn't seem to mind though.

We wandered around the mall a little and then dropped by the office to check email and wish a few SCers a Happy New Year.  We headed home, and as soon as M had left we settled in for a quiet evening.

You can barely see him, but he's sitting on the love seat with a glass of wine watching the fireplace.  If I had known him better I might have let him hold my hand.  (oh yeah, he doesn't have hands)  He behaved like a perfect gentleman.

At midnight I was safely tucked in bed, George tucked into my purse safe from Satan, and Satan had snuck onto my bed and was snoring.

I lead such an exciting life!

I think George is leading a good life with you, uni!

I love his name, remind me of a mild-mannered college mate in the 90´s, who has the cutest smile  so innocent and impish at the same time.

This post made me smile hugely.

Have a fabulous year with Georgie, uni!

    :)

Uni that was a fun post, I'm glad you shared.  George does seem like quite the gentleman also.  Heh, and yes, now there is Curious George AND Adventurous George, traveling the world with Uni to see all that they can behold!  Lol.  Oh this could wind up being so much fun.  Glad your night was a good one Uni!

PBW - I had never had a friend with the name George, but I think you're right about that innocent yet impish grin thing.

queenie - no cats in my new house, so I think George is safe.

    silver - thanks

Lu - It was very nice to have the place to myself.  I did enjoy the peace.  Now I have my very own room to enjoy the peace.  Will blog more about it tomorrow.

Hege - George is a very good companion.  I may have to rethink the whole concept of human male companionship if George continues to be this good! ;)

New Years Eve as a big night is highly overrated. More people had nights like yours than not. And they didn't have George!

lionesss - I have to agree that George has landed in a very cushy life.  As we speak he's sleeping in while I'm here at work.

woman - I'm starting to think you're right about those quiet evenings.

Lu - I'll try to get some tonight.  I just vegged out after the move last night.  Went to bed early.

CW - It was fun taking the pictures too, though I admit to doing "stealth" photography at the book store.  No use looking like a real lunatic in public.
  • CreativeWoman said on Jan 02, 2009....
I would have been in stealth mode too.  But you know, that's part of the fun.  :-)

CW - yes, being sneaky is a lot of fun for me!
  • Lucytorial said on Jan 02, 2009....
Hmm, see whenever we go out there are two large pelican cases, two large manfroto tripods, a stills camera and well... nothing fucking stealth about it.. I stopped feeling weird ages ago, now I think everyone stares when we don't have that shit hanging off us.....
  • uniquely-ironic said on Jan 02, 2009....
Lu - I'd love to have the whole great camera set up, but it's point and shoot for me!!! he he he he
  • Lucytorial said on Jan 02, 2009....
You do pretty awesome pointing and shooting believe me!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Jan 02, 2009....
thank you! considering what I'm working with I'm pretty happy with the results
  • Lucytorial said on Jan 02, 2009....
I've got dibs on a camera that is in our lost and found, its been there for freaking ages, its a great little point and shoot digital camera, woth a fortune... I want that point and shoot camera... seriously!

I have no real complaints with mine.  It's a Cannon Powershot and the online reviews for it are very good, even compared with the newest model.

Today is T day at work....
in the flesh...
I am drowning my sorrows in a bowl full of kid's cereal - Cookie Crisp, dinner of champions. I could have easily made a case for eating cookies for dinner, but at least this way I can pretend to have eaten real food.

What I'd like to know is...

Last night Sweetie and I drove to San Jose to have dinner with my niece....
