It was Saturday night, Phil had just gotten our Dishwasher and Vanity hooked up and the Christmas's were over.  Phil was finishing up sweeping the chimney and we were about to settle in and relax for the evening.  My Tea Kettle had just whistled and I scurried into the kitchen to turn the heat down.

I grabbed my Tea Pot and put three tea bags of "Sleepy Time Chamomile and Mint Tea" into the tea pot.  Its loaded with Hibiscus and I read that that is a very good herb for pregnancy.  I got my mug and my pot of tea and was headed to the living room.

Thats when it happened.  I was right next to the table in the dining room.  I suddenly got this whoosh of nausea and felt like i was gonna projectile vomit at any moment.  I set my tea pot and my mug down and dropped to my knees on the floor holding my belly.  Suddenly the nausea was gone instantly and i felt little Remmy do a back flip in my belly twice.  I felt the arms and legs stretch out and do a full circle.  It was the strangest thing id ever felt.  It wasnt a flutter, i was told id feel that first.  It wasnt a kick.  I felt two complete flips that he was making.  I started giggleing and Phil looked down at my from on top of the wood stove with a smile and said "was that what i think it was?"  is was gigling hysterically and said "yes!  I felt it!  I felt it flip!"...

Phil wasnt hardly as impressed as I was.  I was babbling "omg, i cant believe it! I finally felt it", "holy cow"..over and over again.  I finally asked "why are u not as excited as me?".  He responds "well, its been about 5 months, ive been expecting it"...

Sometimes I dont dig how level headed and grounded he is.  He was very happy that i was so excited and that was appreciated.  : )  I kinda thought from that point on that I would feel him all the time.  Nope...Im a little disapointed, that was saturday and I havnt felt a darn thing and its Monday now...  : /

cool!  This is something that men and non-mothers will never be able to fully appreciate.  The movements of your baby in the womb.  It's so miraculous really.

Be patient, little Remmy will do more moving as things get tight inside and he wants to stretch and try the limbs some more. :)

Now this made me smile, starmama.  Feeling that is like nothing else in the world, and it is miraculous, as uni said.  mrM never got enthusiastic about it either, never put his hand on my belly to feel it too.  That's okay -- I was excited enough for both of us.
  • starchini said on Dec 29, 2008....
I spose so uni : )  I cant wait to feel more.  I cant wait for it to be "regular"...it is really miraculous.  Definitly brings on a new connection.  Its one thing to simply know the there is a human inside of you, but to feel it...wow, its just a entirely new reality.

Okay this is weird.  One second ago Uni was the only commentor, then i saw missmimi and expected it to say "said one minute ago" but it says "8 hours ago" and it says uni's comment was "seven hours ago" and then i looked at when i posted it and it says "one hour ago"...crazy...

Well mimikins:  im glad it made you smile!  my job is now done : )  also reassuring the mr mimi wasnt to excited about the kicks.  I spose Phil does have a heart : P  Thanks bunches : )

SoulCast times are in funhouse mode.  On beyond's post, it said he posted an hour ago, and most of the comments say they were posted 8 hours ago.  Some weird ESP stuff going on.

yay! star!!!! your husband will become more amazed when he can feel the movements from outside, and when he can make out a foot kicking you ;)  my husband, he was the LEAST emotional man ever and he was in awe about the whole alien in my tummy when i got big ;)  in fact...i called him in a panic when i was sent to the hospital by my doc to be induced "immediately"....i had to leave a message...he called back about 20 min. later. i said "WHAT have you been doing i'm having a BABY?!" he calmly replied "i was in the shitter"... men...you gotta love em!

That is awesome  star... I can't feel kicks and have a hard time distinguishing if the flutters are from nerves or kicks but everyone once in a while i feel the baby kind of switch sides in a flipping motion- it's an awesome thing....

    congratulations :)

that is so cool!!! remy would be a little handful...lol...;-)

How cool Star!  I'm so happy for you, and that all does sound quite exciting.  I'd imagine Phil probably won't get as excited about that kind of stuff if for no other reason than he's not carrying the baby, so he doesn't know what it feels like at all.  Just knowing that the baby moved is enough for him to go 'Ok, in there and movin' around, that means baby is healthy, movin' on...' lol.  You are carrying the baby, so, well, you described your excitement, you know how you felt, you two will react differently plenty of times I'm sure.  You're a momma now so you're going to be paying a lot closer of attention to little things, and well, let's face it, guys aren't known to be the most detail oriented about these sorts of things ... so he might need some direction so he knows what things in the great Scheme of Baby are monumental and require a bit more enthusiasm.

lol queenie, i hope he isnt too much of a handful...I need an easy baby till i get my swerve on : P

oh hege im definitly excited enough for the both of us : )  I actually have another dr appointment today at 11:15 : )  I have no idea what this appointment is about...we will see : )

  • Hegemone said on Dec 30, 2008....
Oh are you gonna do a post after that doc appointment?  I can't wait ... I'll be rushing home from work to find out! lol
  • Wish_Upon_A_Star said on Dec 31, 2008....

I know that prior to the baby you sometimes smoked weed- if you did smoke while pregnant there is a higher chance that for the first two years of your babies life they will be hyper active.  I know my child will be as he/she is already quite active- i feel the butterfly feeling sometimes suddenly and think what the heck am i nervous about, but i don't know if it is my anxiety disorder or the baby.  When the midwife was trying to get the heart beat the baby moved around so much that it took us half an hour to get the reading (and all it takes is four seconds...)

  • starchini said on Jan 05, 2009....

    lol i hope u liked it hege!  : )

Wishie, nope, havnt smoked any green while ive been pregnant.  But i was already a month pregnant before I found out i was pregnant.  Coincidentally no green was smoked, just cuz i dont smoke all that much.  But i did get completly shit faced drunk.  I told the doc about it and he said FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) only occurs when the mom drinks a lot throughout the pregnancy.  He said that if i got "shit faced" a couple times in the super early stages that no harm would be done.  He also assured me that i could have a drink occasionally while pregnant and no harm would be done that its actually good for the baby.  I havnt taken this advice, havnt had a drop sense i found out i was pregnant.  The baby is definitly active but the doc says its still very normal and usually above average activity is waaay better than below average activity.  : )

The doctor did tell me that if i dont get down to atleast 4 cigs before labor time that my baby will most likely be quite finicky his first months (collicky)...im trying...

oh goodness, i get those feelings suddenly too and it takes me a min to realize.  Though, i dont know if id call mine butterflies.  Ya know that sloshy feeling ya sometimes get when u drink way to much water at once and then start moving around?  that kinda waving wooshy feeling?  Thats what my "butterflies" feel like : )  Until just recently i didnt feel anything at all : P

Last night I was so tired from work and studying all day that when I came home I instantly fell asleep on the floor while my son was playing with his toys. What a funny picture huh? Here I am in my nice working clothes, tight black-long sleeved shirt,...
Ive gone and done it. Ive spoiled Remington. I left him with phil's mom for a few hours while we went and had a drink with Jeff (his dad just died). She was with him for two hours. When I walked through the door I was greeted by my poor little angel...
