Put on a mask and anything is possible. Suddenly you can move, act, and think differently. The mask embodies the potential for transformation of all kinds - emotional, spiritual, physical, and symbolic.

My friend Frank posted a blog about "Mask". He asked for replies and after I wrote it I thought maybe I would post it. Let me know what you think. I am really interested in the feedback. Thanks.

Here I sit in the corner of the bookshelf, watching and waiting and waiting and waiting. It seems I will wait - forever to be held again. To be touched! To be needed! For generations I was needed, wanted, encouraged! In fact, I was mandatory!

Now I sit and wait, listening to dribble about healing and pain. Listening always listening! And collecting dust! Who does she think she is taking me off and putting me here? Who does she think she is that she can change the dynamics of everything that has always been? Setting me aside like I am yesterdays trash is just too much!

Oh! Oh! Here she comes! Her hand is almost on me I am… No! No, not the book! No I hate books. Who ever taught that child to read! And to think she had the right to be anything other then what she was?

Now, all I can do is sit here hoping to be needed again. Hoping that someone will pick me up and put me on. Maybe I should set my sites on one of her children, or a visitor. Yes a visitor! Someone she has no or very little influence over.

What’s that? Am I lonely sitting here? No, not lonely. Secrets, Lies and the others are all here. But they were always behind me when we went out. I was the big cheese! I was the one everyone saw! I was the important one! I was the one who everyone looked to for recognition. I was the one who could change and make us all what ever we needed to be. Now, we all sit here waiting to be used again. Oh whoa is me, what will become of us, what will we do? What will I do?
