Empty chair
See that chair over there?
It sits so lonely cold and empty.
Dusty and old.
But it wasn’t always that way.
Left to gather dust in this old store.
All it needs is a little love.
Some patching and a new coat of paint.
That chair there has been in may lives.
When it first came to life it belonged to a new mother.
It was bought for her by her loving mother..
You see she was about to have a child and wanted a rocker to spend them moments with her new baby.
Just like her mother did for her.
That chair helped on the long sleep less nights.
It watched that little girl grow.
You see on the arm were its been chewed a bit.
That was from her.
But when that baby grew up the chair was no longer needed or wanted..
So it got past to a sweet old lady.
She placed it on her porch.
To sit out in the sun and watch the people go by.
They had a few great years together.
Rocking and laughing.
Watching the world go by.
That chair was rained on and even peed on by a passing dog.
The chair loved that old lady so much that the day she passed I could swear the break in the back was its heart breaking.
Well the old ladies family didn’t know how special that chair was.
And they just set it out for the trash man to get.
That poor chair sat there for what seemed forever.
Until a young man passing by grabbed it up.
This young man was just starting life and like to find junk yard deals.
So he took that chair home.
But he never used the chair.
People who came over would sit in the chair.
But no one shared with the chair.
In the time the chair was with the young man.
It was burnt, kicked. Tossed around.
And even puked on by a large drunk man.
When it came time for the young man to move on the chair was so happy.
It didn’t care who it went to next.
Just as long as it wasn’t party boy.
Well the young man gave that chair away.
To a wedding planer.
And she took that chair and cleaned it up.
And gave chair a job.
She took chair all over to many weddings.
Chairs job was to hold a rose.
And stand proud for the ones who were not able to be there.
Chair was happy to be a memory.
And sometimes when the bride had tears in her eyes chair would rock one time.
And they would smile. Never for sure if they truly seen it rock.
But there hearts filled with joy thinking there loved ones were there.
Well wedding planer had a long life and came time to grow old.
So she took chair and sold him to me.
Chair has sat over there for many years.
Just waiting for the right person.
Someone to take chair home and fix chair up.
To share love with and hold the memories.
So what do you say.
Would you like to buy chair today?
