I know it has been a while since i posted anything here.But I think I have had good reason.There are people here who are more interested in picking apart people that have got far more important things to worry about that the shit other meaning less people write about them,and those meaningless people know exactly who they are.
A while back i mentioned that I had started to get sinusitus again.I last suffered with it this bad when I was in my early 20's.I grew out of it,I guess,but it just went away on its own.In the last 3 years,I think I have not even had the flu.I guess maybe a head cold - but the most of my aches and pains are as a result of the condition,so i got used to it after a while.
But about a month or so back.Yes it has been that long - i started to get the symptoms of what i knew was sinus.Then i woke up one Thursday morning practically unable to breathe and with a really bad toothe ache along the top row of teeth on my left side.This i had suffered with before and was all too familiar.So i left it,and took some meds and it seemed to improve.Or so i thought.Then a combination of office aircon and the dust from office carpet,won the day,and i ended up with the flu - this soon became bronchial pneumonia - as a direct result of being unable to take sick leave at this late point in the year - so it was aircon and carpet dust all day long.
So I have quietly been nursing myself back to health,taking all manner of cough mixtures that should be labelled as lighter fluid as that is what they taste like.I suffer with a post nasal drip -so a lot of the junk in my siinus cavity ends up in my chest.I think that bags under my eyes have bags,as i have lost count of the number of times i have blown my nose in an attempt to clear the sinus.But it hasnt worked.
So I went to the doc today,for the last 3 days,I have been practically deaf in my right ear,and everytime that i talk,i get the echo of my own voice in my ear.I have a very deep baritone like voice,so i am slowly driving myself to drink with the sound of it.
Turns out,my sinus' are blocked out passed my middle ear,which is why it is constantly blocked.The solution? Not medication.Noooooooooooooooo.I got told today,that at 8am tomorrow morning,i am to have a 'sinus washout'.This entails him placing a tube through my nose and flushing out my sinus passages with warm salt water.Boy that sounds like fun...
All I need for Chrsitmas are two black eyes.But he has told me that it is a minor procedure compared to the normal one and i will be 'right as rain in a couple of hours'
yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaah right......

Hi KK - thank you for stopping in - i do wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.I can normally stand the cold and flu,and God knows i have been to hell and back with my condition.But dont give me sinus -it just drives me insane ! -

CJ ~ If you have problems with your sinus all the time why not do ear candleing every month. The candling clears your sinuses and its simple, easy to do and pain free!Doesn't sound fun though... -

I worked for an ears, nose and throat doctor and the wash seems intimidating, but I promise you it will help. Not a lot of fun at first, but eventually you will do them like you tie your shoes. -

Aww I'm so sorry :( My husband has chronic sinusitis also, so I have an idea what a pain it is. But his is more of a deformity than an infection, so he will need surgery but it can be postponed as long as he likes. Considering he works in phone support he is none too keen on possibly being unable to talk and out of work so we're putting it off. I suspect when he finally has it done though he will wonder why he ever waited so long. I hear him breathing at night and you can tell it's affecting his sleep and his energy levels all day. Not to mention the amount of money we spend on kleenex and toilet paper!
So I feel for you :( I hope that the procedure goes smoothly and that you feel SO much better afterwards :D

Well CJ, even though that sounds pretty miserable, I really hope it does put an end to your suffering. I once saw somebody with an at home kit like that, they fill this reservoir with warm salt water and then pour it up their nose, each nostril. I know I couldn't do it. It is not a procedure that harms you or leaves a scar and it is all over with in a few minutes. I have enjoyed reading about your escipades and only wish I could be closer so I could check your phone or electric meter or plumbing or any other way to get in your house for the fun of it.
