Americans succeeded in reducing consumption, partly contributing to the reduction in demand and therefore price of oil and gas.
Now OPEC wants us to pay some 75 bucks a barrel and is cutting output to achieve that price point.
I say America, FUCK OPEC! Fuck all these terrorist loving, America hating muckpeople who do nothing but pump black sludge out of the ground and preach death to the West. Let that cowardly bastard Chavez feed his own people off of someone else's petrocash, not ours.
My fellow Americans, let not the cheap price of gas tempt you into reviving your high-consumption lifestyles. You have the power to render these OPEC jerks powerless. If we keep finding ways to live our lives more efficiently, we shall starve these America-haters into submission. They will beg us to buy their product.
They want us to die, but we are the ones who hold their lifeline. We might not have more fuel efficient cars tomorrow, but we can drive fewer miles in ways that use less gas! Let's keep it up and sink oil prices even lower!

I agree with you on OPEC, and I think we should be getting our own oil from our own land. On the other hand what if there was no OPEC? Wouldn't all these oil producing (specifically the bad ones) nations raise the price of oil to far greater levels than we seen before? -

Seems to me that cartels like OPEC set prices so that no one oil producer can underprice the others, not the other way around. If oil prices go up, everybody wins. If they go down, everybody loses.
Either way, so many of these member states hate our guts. Let them do without our dollars.
