Chrysler's MyGIG Entertainment System ($1055) is new for 2008. It includes a 6.5-inch touch-screen and a 20-gigabyte hard drive to hold songs and pictures. It includes Sirius satellite radio, rear obstacle detection, rearview camera and UConnect. The hard-drive radio is also offered in the MyGIG Multi-Media Infotainment System ($950), which adds a navigation system with real time traffic and voice activation. It is only available with the Quick Order package, and UConnect is also included. In the rear seats, however, the C70 has more legroom than the Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series (1.5 and 1.9 inches more, respectively).

The 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is a thoroughly modern engine, featuring twin spark plugs, direct ignition, and electronic throttle control, though it is a pushrod-overhead-valve design. The 5.7-liter Hemi produces 330 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 375 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Fuel economy is an EPA-rated 13/19 mpg with rear drive and 13/18 mpg with four-wheel drive. Note that it delivers much stronger torque yet matches the fuel economy of the 4.7-liter. Torque is that force that propels you from intersections and helps you tow trailers up long grades, and you can really feel it with the Hemi. Its highway fuel economy rating is aided by Jeep's Multi-Displacement System, which shuts down four of the engine's eight cylinders whenever it detects a steady-state cruise condition and then reactivates them on demand. Pushed hard on a racing circuit, the IS F lives up to the ideals of a professional driver. It's a car with enormous grip, a car capable of connecting on an emotional level with the most demanding driver. The 650i offers a nice balance of ride and handling. Though taut, it doesn't beat up your passenger on rippled highways. The springs and shocks are firmer than those in the standard 5 Series sedans, and the 6 Series cars ride lower. A 650i is absolutely joyful on a winding highway, as we discovered on some mountain roads near Santa Barbara. Handling is precise, with a superb self-centering feel to the steering. The car can be driven very hard into tight corners, and it tracks through high-speed turns like it's on rails. The suspension is tuned to minimize undesirable behavior when braking hard, accelerating hard, or lifting off the gas while cornering.Walkaround The SS models offer a dynamic driving experience. Driving the SS Supercharged model is an absolute hoot. Quick, responsive handling and brisk acceleration performance along with a sporty-sounding exhaust note make the supercharged coupe entertaining to drive, a sport compact that can more than hold its own in the class.

Controlled from an eight-button cluster located just behind the shift lever, the system is simple to operate and the interface is clear, thanks in part to the fact that it does not incorporate radio and climate controls into the screen, as do many other navigation systems.

But beyond this exotic color option, the 2007 Chevrolet Corvettes look essentially the same as the 2006s, and that's not bad at all.
