There was an article in today's newspaper about the different things people worry about.
Not surprisingly two of the things that topped the list were money and relationships.
But what really amazed me was that a huge percentage...80%...of people in my country worried about their self-esteem and what others thought of them!!!!!
That's really weird to me. I used to worry about what people would think of me when I was in my teens, but now I don't give a damn what others think of me.
As long as I know what I'm doing is not going to hurt anyone and is okay by my conscience, I don't think its anybody else's business at all. Who gives a damn what they think?
What I do worry about are my two kids. They are still in their teens and have not yet finished their education. So till they are settled down with good jobs, I guess I'll be a bit worried.
And because of them, I'm also a wee bit worried about my health. Though I don't really bother too much about myself, I don't want anything to happen to me till the kids are grown up, because I know my husband will just go to pieces without me and the kids will really suffer.
I have worries about the environment. Yes, though I don't agonize over it, I still feel very bad that we humans have so ravaged the wonderful inheritance that is ours that our children will never enjoy so much we took for granted. That we failed to appreciate and nurture the incredible beauty and diversity of the earth that God gifted us is tragic.
So what do you worry about?
