I'm taking the easy way out, since I can't think of a blessed thing to write about.  I'll let you do the work!

So go ahead and ask.  It's good to be nosy.  Just don't ask how much I weigh, because I'll tell you right now, my answer will be a honking big lie.

[I'll be so embarrassed if no one asks anything...]

Hi mimi- What is your fav tv show? (not necessarily now, but ever).

What is the one thing that keeps your head up and going in life more than any other?

What do you like most about Christmas?
  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....
CM --  I do like to be in the sun, especially the first few times when it warms up in the spring.  I don't mind being out in the rain, if it's not a cold rain, and if I don't have to drive in it.  I'm not good at asking when I need -- It's hard to know when to ask.  Yes, I do drink water.  Since I gave up soda, I drink water almost exclusively.  You have moth balls?  How did you get their little legs apart?  (Sorry old OLD joke.  And a dumb one at that.)  And...  if I found a 20 dollar bill, and you needed it, I would give it to you.

gingerpeach -- Oh you!  How could I not like you?  Of course I like you.  Penso che lei abbia una bella donna.  ( I hope I said, you are a beautiful woman.  LOL  If I said something terrible rude and inappropriate, I apologize.)

    paperdoll --  I will PM you my address.  :)  I've been reading Nora Roberts since she wrote Silhouette romances, at least 20 years or so.  If I had to choose, I guess I would pick Hey Jude.  And, paperdoll, I have liked you ever since I first started reading you.  {{{hug}}}

    Hi beyond.  :)

I have always loved the original Star Trek, no matter how dated and hokey it is.  That's the one that comes to mind.

I think what keeps me going is my belief that life is a gift, one that I cherish very much.  I've been close to dying a few times, so I am grateful to be here.

I love Christmas music.  Nothing more wonderful than midnight Mass and listening to the choir.  It makes me cry though, and sometimes it's hard to get through.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Dec 12, 2008....
    fun!

    What's in your CD collection?

Besides your awesome cherry pie, what is your signature dish or meal?

Looking back, which has been your favorite year so far?

  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....

uni -- I have a lot of Beatles music (big surprise there, huh?), and a LOT of Keith Urban.  Other than that, I have a lot of oldies, like Simon and Garfunkel, and Elton John, some classical (Beethoven and Handel), and some country.  See?  Not terribly sophisticated.

I don't know if I have a signature dish.  mrM always requests chicken and dumplings (yuck) or cabbage rolls or beef stroganoff.  My personal favorite that I make is lasagna.  I enjoy baking more than cooking.  I make awesome cream cheese brownies and chocolate caramel brownies.

My favorite year?  Either 1972 or 2004.

  • gingersoul said on Dec 12, 2008....
Mimibella.....that was a funny translation....you told me that you believe i HAVE a beautiful woman.....lol....

**yes, actually i have...a have one in progress...my daughter..**

So.....this is the rigth sentence: "Penso che sei una bella donna"...and i thank you very much.

Another question for you: which song of Keith Urban you prefer as the top of the top?
  • uniquely-ironic said on Dec 12, 2008....
Lordy woman!  You cook better than most chefs if you're pulling those dishes off.  Can I come to dinner?!!!  Please!  I'll even wear a bib and let you put down a floor cloth ;)

Your music seems nicely balanced.  No reason to get all "uppity" with music.
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Dec 12, 2008....
    Cheese brownies?!!

    Well?  Howabout it?

    [waggles eyebrows]

Just in time for Christmas, too.  :D
  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....
gingerpeach --  LOL  Oh well, I tried...  I blame Google Translator.  :D  As for the very yummy Mr. Urban...  Right now, it's You Look Good in My Shirt.  Favorite album of his is still Golden Road.

uni -- You have a standing invitation.  :)
  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....
LOL  GrapeApe...  Hmmm.  Well, have you been naughty or nice?  Or maybe I should be asking someone else here that question.  ;)
  • Alyss said on Dec 12, 2008....
Mimi, what is your favourite Christmas carol?
  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....
{{{{Alyss!}}}}  It's excellent to see you!  Silent Night is beautiful, and so is Oh Holy Night.  But I have a special fondness for Oh Come, All Ye Faithful, because I can remember my grandma teaching us how to sing it in Latin, when we were little.  I can still hear her laughter.  She looked like Mrs. Claus, all rosy and round, but she was a feminist before it was fashionable.
  • gingersoul said on Dec 12, 2008....
MimiDelite.....if you ask me...i have to say that Grapey has been extremely good.....lol......

Well.......you know......good and naughty....the good kind of naughty ....or the naughty kind of good......howabout that?....LOL....

    Alyss.......hello you! {hugs}

What did you do on your honeymoon?
What was the first album you ever bought?

Hope you're having a good day.

Rod Stewart says we have to leave Virginia alone.  Why?  It's ok if you don't know, MissMimi.  I've asked a lot of people and they don't know either.
  • quietone said on Dec 12, 2008....

what is one of the hardest decisions you have ever had to make?  what is your favorite color? If you could live your life over and could only change ONE thing what would that be?  hows that?

  • MissMimi said on Dec 12, 2008....
gingerpeach -- details!  We need details, woman!  ;)  (No I guess we really don't but if you wanna share, I for one would be all ears. :D )

GrapeApe --  Well, you never know what might be arriving in your mailbox.  ;)

woman -- Hmmm.  The most joy?  I'd have to say, my children.  They have filled my heart with joy and pride, as well as the deepest of sadness and hurt.

fraggie -- How can you even ask?  Dopey, of course!  Except these last few years, mrM would probably say Grumpy.  Harumph...

Hege -- Windows.  I don't know anything about Macs.  And Victoria's secret is...  lube, lots and lots of lube.  (OMG... boy is my face red.)

LucyT -- I don't know why I is so sweet -- I assume you meant sweet, but if you meant sweat well, I is so sweat because I is in the wacky world of menopause.

CDub -- plastic.  What did we ever do before they invented those plastic grocery bags?  My first for-real quilt that I finished was in 2002.  It still is resting on the back of the living room sofa.

hottie -- I've been to Canada, and to several ports of call in the Caribbean when I went on a cruise.  Well, mrM and I were really really poor, so we didn't go on a honeymoon.  We went on a cruise for our twentieth anniversary which I guess we called our honeymoon.  As to what we did do...  hmmm. There might be a blog about that in the future.  The first album I ever bought was Beatles VI and it cost me three dollars.  I think it was in about 1964.

Twiggie -- I always leave Virginia alone.  I don't have good luck with that dang state.

quilty -- The hardest decision I ever had to make involved one of my children.  My favorite color lately is red.  My least fave is pink.  Mamie knows why.  Well, I suppose the easy answer to what I would change is, I would not be disabled, but to be honest, I don't really know.  Maybe I wouldn't have gotten married so young.

Did you ever wish upon a star ?
Did you ever wonder where you are ?
Have you ever dyed your hair blue ?
Have you ever lost a shoe ?
Have you ever rubbed your tummy ?
    Have you ever eaten bunnies?
Did you ever run up the stairs ?
Did you ever cut your hair ?
I'll go read up on my Dr. Zeus and then I'll be back with more questions....  :^)

Wow. Cool answers. Mrs. H and I had a honeymoon and now we are poor. Maybe we should have waited too?

It's kind of exciting to know you were around for the Beatles invasion.

Oooh, here's one I don't think I already saw -- what's your favorite fabric (to work with, to wear, whatever)? Why?

Just thought I'd check out this web site, I'm home alone (laid off from work) depressed missing my DAD the only true person who LOVED me no matter what, he passed away Dec. 11th,2004. Wondering what this world has for someone like me???
  • MissMimi said on Dec 13, 2008....

hottie -- yep, I remember seeing them on the Ed Sullivan show in 1963 or -4.  Damn, I'm old.  ;)

infernalmama -- for quilting, I use cotton.  Never even tried anything else.  Comfort is paramount, so any fabric content will do, as long as it's soft.  I guess I prefer natural fibers though, for clothing.

ms.somebody -- I'm sorry you're missing your Dad, especially at this time of year.  There are lots of great people here, so welcome, and hope you like it here.  :)

Rc!  OMG, I'm sorry!  I completely overlooked your comment.

Alrighty, in order:  Yes. Yes. No.  As a matter of fact, I have lost a shoe. I was, uh, inebriated at the time and never did get it back.  Probably, when I was pregnant.  I have eaten bunny.  Once.  Never again.   Nope.  I actually have not cut my hair in three years.  It's getting too long.
