Hi Ginger! Super! Ur post lifted me up! Good luck! So you also sing! Wow! I know you'll knock 'em right over....l.
Trick for high notes if you cant get the key changed.... try thinking the note in the back of your head.. around the medula.... start it going over the top of your head and just over your forehead try projecting it slightly downwards and then upwards and out...... (But try this at home a few times... just in case it doesn't work!!!) Warm up by following the path with your fingers starting at the medula and turn your hand palm up in front of you as you project...
Lots of luck... but I'm not worried 'caise all Italians are great singers!!!
Yes, Ginger, this one! And what a great video you chose... with histrorical instruments and all. We did it just a tick faster, but with the same basic depth. I actually am listening to it for about the 5th time. I had written a far too long comment and lost it all 'cause I just tend to get carried away!
Glad you did so well. I'm sure you were really the best. And your red dress... no one over here would think twice about you wearing it... Maybe there was some fear of you upstaging the whole shebang! I'm sure you were a complete knck-out anyway, and I would have loved to see the performance!
For us the cathedral was packed! And, yes, we were a big success. We had the trumpet ensamble come down from Erfurt again, soloists from Dresden, Berlin - Anika is one super Alto - and a local chor director played the tymapni again. We all like working together wer also on tour together. I sing once more on morning of 26th - Weinachts Oratorium Part 5. My little boy (10) has a birthday on that day and he told me he considered this a present from me especially for him! My little girl (14) was at the Magnificat and ensuing party too. (Can you believe it? She wants to take up cello. YES! you can, my little girl, Yes!)
So, I just looked in to SC for the fun of it the other day as computer has even higher DSL now. Of course when you write about music I read! And then come my long and boring comments... sorry. I just get carried away.... all too much time. But fun...
My heartfelt condolences - no one can feel your pain with you. And it does hurt, and always will. Your father and sister must have been wonderful people. I will drink a glass or two of good Barolo and send you some good vibes. See you again sometime mext year- Meanwhile, Ciao and Merry Christmas
