After about 2 months w/o my laptop I started to really miss it though...only because all of my music is on it. So, I got it back like 2 weeks ago, and I've been fervently burning mixed CDs (my Ipod broke like 8 months ago) for my disc man. Which leads to the topic, rockin' out at work. Which is what I'm doing right now. Kinda bored because by job can be that sometimes. BUT then I throw in one of my CDs and start dancing in my cubicle and making an ass of myself. Whatever- I do what I want. I made the two CD's I'm listening to this weekend, and I named them My Emo V.1 and V.2. Thing is, they're not REALLY emo. Which got me thinking, what IS emo, anyway? So, what to do when you have this kind of philosophical dillemma? Google it! The best site by far was called Urban Dictionary. They had many definitions that I found useful, though they kind of threw me out on my ass as far as being into Emo shit goes. OK, I've got the Dashboard, and I've got side-parted bangs. I think that's it though. Anyway, if you want, check out, other people's definitions here: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=emo I like definitions number 1, 2, 5, and 9. The best comment on the page was by far: girlfriend: C'mon, lets have sex. boyfriend: I'm too sad to have sex. girlfriend: I'm sad too; lets have sex and cry. boyfriend: I'm already crying. I digress. I guess cause Emo is short for "emotional" or "emotive" its all about stuff that makes you feel...good, bad, tired, sad, happy, in love, all that crap. So, without further ado, here are the songs featured on my Emo Playlists. My Emo V.1 Track 1- Drive by the Cars Track 2- I Wanna Know What Love Is by Foreigner Track 3- Keep on Lovin' You by REO Speedwagon Track 4- Your Love by The Outfield (also my profile song) Track 5- Wild World by Cat Stevens Track 6- The Best Deceptions by Dashboard Confessional Track 7- Glycerine by Bush Track 8- Standard Lines by Dashboard Confessional Track 9- The Scientist by Coldplay Track 10- Comedown by Bush Track 11- The Stone by DMB Track 12- Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) by Deftones Track 13- Round Here by Counting Crows Track 14- Hey Jealousy by Gin Blossoms Track 15- More Than Words by Extreme Track 16- Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode Track 17- Don't You Want Me by Human League My Emo V.2 Track 1- Against All Odds by Phil Collins Track 2- Behind Blue Eyes by The Who Track 3- The Brilliant Dance by Dashboard Confessional Track 4- Teenage Wasteland by The Who Track 5- Either Way by Guster Track 6- Because of You by Kelly Clarkson Track 7- Rainy Day by Guster Track 8- Disarm by Smashing Pumpkins Track 9- Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson Track 10- Wounded by Third Eye Blind Track 11- Pool Shark by Sublime Track 12- To Be With You by Mr. Big Track 13- Closer To God by Nine Inch Nails Track 14- Pathetic by Blink-182 Track 15- Say It Ain't So by Weezer Track 16- Try A Little Tenderness by Otis Redding Track 17- Best Imitation of Myself by Ben Folds (Live) Track 18- Never There by Cake Track 19- Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods So yeah...that's what I've been listening to. After looking at all these songs, I've come to the conclusion that I am a pretty random person. I like a LOT of different stuff. Maybe this will inspire a friend/reader to download a forgotten about song...if so, good for you. Don't be embarrassed to admit that you like a couple Kelly Clarkson songs too.
