I have been blogging here since June 10, the day after my birthday. Yup that's what I am, a Gemini, twin persona et al.

In the two months and a half I have managed 17 public posts while 3 are still in draft and may never ever be completed. Compare that with some of the publishers here, boy I never had any problems with the 5 posts limit per day.

I am just a regular family guy, work when the sun is up, time with the family afterwards, a meeting or two on some days of the week, church on Sunday and the occasional movie when a good one comes along. And don't forget those time spent shoving the much needed sustenance into the opening on my face just to stay alive.

All these are basically what everyone here does. Surely Silverwhiser doesn't surf around the galaxy on a bright glowing silver surfboard. Jade doesn't wear a magical ring which emits a green light to do her bidding. And Creativewoman doesn't happen to have a genie in a lamp I presume? Or does she? And I don't see wings sprouting out of FaithfulDisciple's back either.

Yet you guys and gals can keep them coming (the blogs I mean) at a relentless pace. It is totally weird how WW can sustain the torrents of words coming out of India. Yeahbutnobut, just how you can keep it up this long makes me wonder if you have discovered an alternative to that blue pill.

I give up. I just cannot keep up with you peeps. Not that I am a slow typist mind you. I can really smoke the keyboard if and when I want to. I think it is the knotted lump of soft tissue encased within the coconut shell sitting on top of my neck which is not functioning at full capacity. The ancient processor is too slow in booting up and taking way too much time to get warmed up, and that is on top of all the other timely requirements to get the machine moving before we can get into overdrive, if ever.

I need time to decide what to write, time to settle my derrière on something cushy and comfy, time to pick up pen and paper to outline my ideas, time for a cuppa, then time to unleash my fingers on the old beat up and abused keyboard, then time to click the 'Publish Post' button.

This little blog has now already taken a good 1 hour of my morning. That's all the time I can afford to spare really. If I were to fulfil my quota of 5 posts per day I would have taken up 5 hours and this is not to mention the hours burnt just reading the endless posts here in the community, 8 hours in all, no less. That's half of my waking up time.

But you, the other denizens of the SC community, just how do you find the time to blog?

I started out strong, but I've just decided I can't do the 5 a day- or 4 or 3. I'm just going to post when I can; hopefully once a day...

I'm here at 10:00pm when my house is quiet. I start my mornings reading other people's blogs, and sometimes I read them or write one at lunchtime...

Oh, I'm a gemini too; my bday is may 30!
  • GMNIMan said on Aug 22, 2006....
Wow. We are gems, that we are. I read somewhere that one of the trait of a gemini is that we are good creative writers. I can see that in you, not so sure about myself though.

But we get bored easily, so we have to keep ourselves entertained all the time. Can be a handful for others, but that's how we stay alive long, energetic and full without a moment wasted. That's the "secret of life".
  • secretlife said on Aug 22, 2006....
i'll admit to being easily bored!
    and high energy as well.
Don't worry about 'keeping up'....post when you can.
This is supposed to be fun!

    GMNI,

    Thanks for he cameo. :-)

I am addicted to blogging. I have this master plan of actually making some money from my writing. I write all live long day. Not just here. I write greeting card text and several other things.

With a Diet Mountain Dew at my side, I plug away. I love it though. My blog posts do come fairly easily to me once an idea strikes me.

CW, nice of you to drop in, Thanks.

secretlife, I don't think I'll even bother trying to keep up. One post in three days is about average for me. I do visit the other blogs quite a bit and leave comments as much as I can.

I am a BlackBerry fanatic. I can blog anywhere!

I try to opt for one blog a day. If I can get more than that, I feel lucky.

Had I not lost my Dell Axim PDA (see my post on Farewell to a Dear Friend I believe I would be posting at a higher frequency. I used to carry that little device with me everywhere and would be tapping on the screen at every opportunity even when I stop at a traffic light.

I am resisting buying a new one because I know that a new model is coming out soon.

well, i find my time in the mid of painting..
usually when i do painting, i will have some interval break. either becoz of frustration of the painting can't be the way i like or i have to wait for the color layer to dry... or i just get lazy.
when i sit at the computer i just write whatever come to my mind. :) my feeling, my surrounding, or my work :)
so i am sorry to say that sometime is my writing is boring.
    haha

Perfect GM, you took the words right out of my mouth. I for one am still struggling with my career shifts. But I refuse to let it get me down, so instead of feeling depressed and miserable while waiting for lady luck to come along, I stumbled upon Soulcast.

And then it hit me, I'm an addict. I was away for a week working on my career shifting strats, but my mind was always on everyone, how they were doing at Soulcast?

It's like my online family, all of you, even glad to come across you and proud to have you GM as my online friend. I just hope that when my shifts do get up and running, I may have lesser time for SC but I'm not the type of person who abandon friendships that easily. That said my family always complain to me that I've given so much time to SC. It's time to shift quality time to them too. :)

honestly, i do surf the galaxy like norrin radd. :D

seriously: i read an awful lot of people when i can. sometimes, what they have to say, either the blog post or in the comments, kicks loose an idea for something.

i used to want to run through my 5/day limit, but really, i can't sustain that kind of pace and still experience this place the way i really prefer: commenting. :>

i usually manage more like 4/day, i think.

GM: Yeah I understand your anxiety over losing your Dell PDA after reading your post. But with the loss comes a new opportunity to own a more advanced model. So when it does come out, go for it and indulge yourself. Very useful tool for a writer whose ideas are not constrained by time and space.

i usually just blog when something strikes me. many times, however, i simply don't have the opportunity to get to SC when a thought strikes me that i want to write about. so, i jot down the idea of the post and then whip the post out when i have a few spare minutes.

there are times when i go a few days without a single new post.
  • GMNIMan said on Aug 23, 2006....
FD, gee thanks. It is truly touching to hear that I will remain your friend beyond the boundaries of SC.

First of all my apologies to all. I missed out on most part of the conversation above. Its like having all you guys over at my place, then I disappear off elsewhere leaving you guys to entertain yourselves.

Actually I was at a meeting last night (it is last night for me), and the meeting dragged on till it was very late. Returned home and just passed out dog tired.

Silver, me too, I really do enjoy commenting on other people's blogs enormously, and sometimes a lot easier than having to start a whole new topic myself.

Since the loss of the PDA, I have been carrying a notepad with me everywhere I go, the old fashion way. It is now filled with ideas, outlines and notes on many things which I want to write about. Completing them however proves to be far more laborious than I had envisage.

Posting a blog once every three days is about average for me.

Guess what? I only blog and read other's blogs at my workplace. It is about 8.45am now, just came in to my office, with my bunch of clients right in front of me. Hehe... No kidding. They don't even know that I'm typing this.
I'd say I have lots of time to read blogs and to write blogs but sometimes I just don't have anything coming to my mind on what to write.
Although I'm given freedom to surf the net, I have to make sure that my work in office is done/finished on time. And usually I could manage my time effectively.
So, there you go...I spend some/most (LOL) of my time in office BLOGGING.
  • sigroid75 said on Aug 23, 2006....
i dunno...as ive said somewhere in this comments
thing, i have some stuff that were not published,
esp on travel. and since im a writer, i sit down and
just type whatever that comes into my mind and
    hits my fancy.

but if i dont have unpublished articles, i dont think
i can really fill up the 5 posts a day. and yes, i
have written some devotionals, too. and i have stuff
    about our country, the Philippines.

i just post them for anyone who wants to read.:-)
  • FOTC said on Aug 24, 2006....
I find it hard enough trying to get my first blog publish, I still got zero, but I do like to lurk and enjoy leaving the odd comments. 5 a day is out of this world.
  • sigroid75 said on Aug 24, 2006....
FOTC: u'll soon get the hang of it. hahaha welcome!:-)
  • sigroid75 said on Aug 24, 2006....
FOTC: u don't have entries yet?
  • FOTC said on Aug 24, 2006....
I'm coming, I'm coming! Arrggggh, it is so much easier to comment on other people's blogs than to start your own.
  • anonymous said on Aug 25, 2006....
Well GMNIMan, I am worse than you. I have only managed a couple of blogs since I started and at times I even wonder if I should just give up. There are just not enough hours in the days and not enough days in the week!!!!
  • GMNIMan said on Aug 25, 2006....
anon. I think I know you! Anyway just keep on trying, and don't give up.

    [hugs]
