i'm a planner and my life is always full. never enough hours in the day...
my plan for today was to clean, clean, clean and put up the christmas decorations, go to the library, grocery store, squeeze dinner in somewhere, and then kids and i are meeting friends at a hockey game tonight.
sometimes you just have to ditch the plan.
the kids and i all slept in. lazily got up and did breakfast. we are all in a cheery mood. i half-heartedly started my chores....when i came back into the living room i was greeted by a big blanket "fort" that the kids have made. they drug out pillows, comforters, sheets, etc..to make this massive "fort" with my dining room table and chairs. and it's smack dab in the way of the closet where my christmas stuff is stored.......
being such a "planner" my first instinct was to screech at them to "clean up this mess". but before i had a chance to do that i realized something..
my 12 year old and 8 year old are actually playing...together...collaborating on the engineering of this blanket fort...NOT FIGHTING...NOT PLAYING VIDEO GAMES...actually getting along...
hearing the peal of giggles from inside the blankets as the dogs clumsily knock down blanket "walls" in their efforts to get in and play with their "boys" is priceless.
so...i can either work around this gigantic cotton fort and do chores, i can be the party-pooper ad make them take it down, or i can grab a flashlight and climb in.....
***fraggles waves while her head peeps out of the blanket door and her butt sticks out the other side***
HAVE A GOOD DAY SOULCASTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
