Did you know that Windows is not only good for writing blogs, annoying paperclips who don't actually help you and making presentations? Sometimes, Windows is joking. Read on please, and find out why.
Recently, when I downloaded a free Windows update, I shut off my computer and rebooted it an hour later. The nice blue screen welcomed me, but then a message popped up, saying:
'Your version of Windows XP Home Edition is not legal. You are possibly screwed by software faking. Good news however, you can register now at microsoft.com. Too bad for you however, because it ain't free.'
I was staring at the screen and suddenly I realised that I had been using a copied version of Windows XP Home Edition for THREE YEARS!!!! It actually sparks laughter out me when Windows finally notices this after such a long time.
Well, I still use my copied version of Windows, because it always worked fine and still does, though I can't make use of Windows Defender. How sad, but knowing that Winows' 'defense' against software faking took three years to notice, I don't care less. No, I don't care about the inability to make use of the new Inter Explorer 7 too, because I use Firefox, which is helluvalot faster (and better in my opinion).
Recently, Microsoft published it's goals for Windows Vista. One of these goals was 'better security'. Well Microsoft, you have plenty of work to do. If I buy Vista, I do not want to wait for a Service Pack 2 to make it work properly.
This reminded me of another article at http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/kotor.html, where author John Cheese wrote the following:
Wait seven minutes as the computer searches the internet. When it tells you that you already have the most updated version of your drivers, enter the website of the makers of your graphics card. Here, you will find out that Windows was lying to you. Nod your head as if to say, "Oooh, nice play, Windows. But I have bested you once again," and update your graphics card from the website.
