Just came across this wonderful
piece of writing by Jay Garmon, a TechRepublic's professional. I couldn’t stop myself from
sharing this through my blog. I found it very interesting; you too will find it
much to your amusement…:)
When someone asks if you’re a
god, you say yes! “–the organized practitioners of Googlism have
brought forth many of the trappings of more mainstream religions Google is a
more useful object of worship than most competing theological entities. After all,
Google queries are prayers that actually get answered, though often
mysteriously.
And, for good measure, we give
you The Ten Commandments of Googlism:
1. Thou shall have no other Search Engine before me, neither Yahoo nor Lycos,
AltaVista nor Metacrawler. Thou shall worship only me, and come to Google only for
answers.
2. Thou shall not build thy own commercial-free Search Engine, for I am a jealous
Engine, bringing law suits and plagues against the fathers of the children unto the third
and fourth generations.
3. Thou shall not use Google as a verb to mean the use of any lesser Search Engine.
4. Thou shall remember each passing day and use thy time as an opportunity to gain
knowledge of the unknown.
5. Thou shall honor thy fellow humans, regardless of gender, sexual orientation or race,
for each has invaluable experience and knowledge to contribute toward humankind.
6. Thou shall not misspell whilst praying to me.
7. Thou shall not hotlink.
8. Thou shall not plagiarize or take undue credit for other’s work.
9. Thou shall not use reciprocal links nor link farms, for I am a vengeful but fair engine
and will diminish thy Page Rank. The Google Dance shall cometh.
10.Thou shall not manipulate Search Results. Search Engine Optimization is but the
work of Microsoft.
These commandments are scary for seo service companies. But every marketing person who follows these commandments is blessed by GOOGLE GOD by good page rank and higher google rankings.
