my thanksgiving was odd. not odd in a good way. odd in a let's get the banjos playing way.
i went to my parents house today for thanksgiving.
when i walk in i find electric heaters in the living room. she forgot to pay the gas bill.(apparantly 3 months in a row, because i KNOW they don't shut you down for missing just 1 month, don't ask how i know this) seeing that her stove and oven are GAS this presented a teensy problem.
gotta hand it to mom. i woulda called off thanksgiving at my place and headed out to a restaraunt. not my mom. she pulled out the electric roaster for the turkey, toaster oven for the dinner rolls, electric skillet for the stuffing and a plug in burner for the rest.
another teensy problem. with all these electrical heaters and cookers going on they kept blowing the fuses...roflmao....she had to plan her cooking according to what could be plugged in at the same time.
i relax on the couch and am reading the paper when i see her come walking out of her bedroom down the hall carrying a pot of boiling potatos....
me: "MOM? WHY did i just see you come out of your bedroom with a pot of boiling potatos?"
mom: "because, i had to use an outlet ACROSS the house so i wouldn't blow another fuse"
dinner actually turned out awesome, we all got nice and full and it turns out mashed potatos are very tasty when cooked in a bedroom
