I participated in this event, held in McKinley Hill.
My first goal was to break my PR, and if it's easier than expected then break the 50 minutes barrier.
Too bad, I was mistaken on that Run For Life event. That was also a running event and a few km away from Unicef event. Huhuhu, I have to walk and run to get there. Time was running quickly and I was getting late, so I dash and sprint to get there fast.
Oooohh around 1km away, I saw runners..what! It already started waaaa! I screamed and sprint as fast as I can and gone to the starting line. My race bib was checked and off to go. Vrrroooom not thinking I'll be running a 10Km. As I was running, I was looking for the U-turn slot as the map says. I already crossed the U-turn slot for 2Km and still looking for it. I hurriedly asked someone and she said "you should've already turned there"...What the f^%&!
I screamed "SshhhiiiiiiT! while running. It was a disaster! Where the hell was the marshalls?
A lot of time was spent, a lot of power/energy was spent. OMG!
But then I was able to meet my friends along the way, one by one I passed over them. I need to set a new PR evenif I ran late. "No matter what, I need to break my own record in every race." That's my spirit.
I finished the 10Km but with a big disappointment. I was slower...too slow. That's because I burnt out so much energy just before and at the first few km. I did'nt even stretched.
Evenso, I finished it in 1hr 6minutes and 42seconds. But take note, I was late by about 12minutes and overrun about 200m. If that will be taken, I would have finished it a lot faster than in my record at NB Power Race.
1hr 6minutes 42seconds = 66.7minutes
less 12minutes
==54.7minutes for 10.2Km
==53.6minutes for 10Km
See me on my next race...10Km MILO Manila Finals on Nov. 30
Also in Yakult 10miler on Dec. 7
