I sent a thank you email to Mike's late wife's brother and got one back from his wife. She really seems like a decent person, though a little more religious than I'm comfortable with.

 Thankfully, they live about as far away from us as humanly possible while still in the same country. We are on the extreme East coast while they are on the extreme West coast, so the chance of ever meeting them is highly unlikely.

 I really don't want these people around. I have too many problems with the late wife's treatment of a wonderful man and I'm not always cautious about what I say. I'd end up giving my opinion about her and it ain't pretty, At the risk of sounding cruel and ending up the same way she did, I think she deserved to suffer for the way she used and abused Mike. Even having cancer didn't deter her from being a lush who was drunk by noon on most days. It was only near the end when she COULDN'T drink that she got sober. The chemo kept her sick so she couldn't stomache the alcohol.
