The night is lost to us
No one saw us entwined
While night fell
I watched from my pillow
As the leaves faded
Where were you then?
Who was with you, I wonder
Did you smell the same to him
This time is lost to me
No one saw my tears
Like that faded summer day in the park
My soul knew your heat
While the stars laughed from above
I watched the tapestry of night come
And held the cool of it in my hand
I remembered you with a clenched soul
As the stars left me
You recede with evening in me
Cold dark sky
As the twilight erased my day
