It’s a tradition that will happen in a lot of house next Thursday. People will bow their heads, thank the lord or whatever higher power they believe in for their health, family, food, etc. It’s gonna happen with my family. However, I don’t believe in religion and don’t believe a higher power has any control what-so-ever of what goes on here on Earth. That is if there even is a higher power. Most likely there isn’t. So what am I going to do Thursday when my family bow their heads and pray. Well, I’ll bow my head, keep my eyes open, hope for the same things they’re praying for and be grateful I have my family around to experience this. With the violence and the Iraq War, there are many my view on religion is meaningless at that point and time. To be truthful it’s meaningless without the holiday. It’s not that big of a deal between me and my family. There have been times where it’s come up but really it no big deal. Although I know in some houses it is. My advice would be for those people who make it a big deal is to not. Everybody wants the same things, they just go about if differently. Bow your head, hold hands, keep your eyes open do whatever you got to do to be you. If you can’t and you just feel that that strongly about it, I understand. Call your family and friends and those who don’t understand and make sure you let them know that despite your difference the love and respect is still there.
