  soulcast has been a no show for over 6 months.
   
  My guess is like trav that as the slow problems occurr more and more it means they can't afford to upgrade and the site itself will eventually die... cease to exist.

  Take a look though there's only one guy on it, and that also means one guy doing up grades, one guy trying to filter spam fuckers, and also making sure that archives are done so that the current posts don't slow the whole fucking site down because of the shit load of shit pooring in every few seconds...

  I have returned and am actively working on the site. My first priority is to get the new ad system in place and my second priority is the spam. I have been deleting spam as much as I can, but I don't have time to do it for multiple hours every single day which is what it would take until I get time to really fix it rather than manually deleting it.

  Lucytorial, we can afford to keep the site going, don't worry about that :) At this point it's just a matter of time for me to get through some of the top priorities. I'll give more info on the new ad system once it's up.

  SoulCast: One complaint that my fellows and I have is the problem of unspecified others leaving behind rude tags when commenting. I would suggest that tags be changed, if at all, by the original post creator.

  cause a boot button might be bad cause people could boot some one they dont like! who knows but ya the long timers here should be given a way to trash the trash! or we all could just  message you with all the names and blogs. which would kill you on a full box but who knows....

  But we should have more control over tags, but the post are not our property once posted they immediately become property of soulcast and soulcast works via a tagging system...hence you can not control your own tags as some suggest.  But those removing tags here are most likely sc employees fronting as users in any event.
  
  Don't be so silly  ; ) What do you expect when a working phone # or address has yet to surface for this site !  All the ones listed are long dead ends....lol

  The ones who've been helping to remove the tags are other soulcasters. From what SoulCast has been saying, there's really only him and he's not been here for a while so it's not other employees.

   I like Lucy's idea but with a twist - after so many votes, the posts don't get deleted, they get locked into draft mode and SoulCast can pull up the locked posts and decide if they should be deleted or unlocked.

  Or instead of locked, they get flagged. Then SoulCast can look at the flagged posts soulcasters voted against and decide if they should be deleted or not.

  I plan to do something essentially like this with a few other twists as well. I'm thinking about putting the first post and comment from a new user into that state as well so the spam and child porn never hit the site at all.

  Glad the child porn is history, and the tags can or will be removable by the post owners...all good.
  
  However, allowing "other members" to judge another's writing skills or style is not going to be unlike the prejudice & discrimnation created by your "Popular Members List".
  
  Now that you state your back... how about a real address to SoulCast and a real working phone number.  PM's just wont get it for me, I rather enjoy a paper trail, or at lease a digital one = ).

  Considering this will require SoulCast to apply, and occasionally redefine, it's 'Terms of use' and 'Privacy Policy' I like the idea.
  
  And 'putting the first post and comment from a new user into that state' is a fair policy considering that it would either make or break a bloggers incentive for doing repeat work. Kinda like 'conform or be cast out.'
  
  The only alternative would be to have a separate area where the spam-bots, minus any porn, could have a go at each other.
  
  And to be honest the porn stuff belongs elsewhere. Its a real turnoff to get here and see a list of posts that includes that crap. We already have enough posts that are from the normally demented crowd. Why take it too such extremes when its appeal is to a outcast minority? There are specialty sites for that as SR can attest.

  All SoulCast is doing is enforcing the rules that everyone agreed to when they signed up. So spam, child porn and abusive tagging is already  covered.
