Mike sez: Up early again. I'm on vacation for crying out loud. Why can't I sleep late? Cuz I'm at Disney!!! Coffee and danish in The Mara seems to be working to get the day started.

Today we return to Epcot. This time to spend the day. Last time I was here, Test Track was being built and Soarin was still in California. TT was the first place we headed for. Absolutely no line. And what a thrill it is, just like I knew it would be when the Disney people were talking about it. 64.7 mph on a ride? How amazing is that?!?!

While we were on Soarin, I looked for my mother's house in Southern California...lol Didn't find it, but I'm sure it went right over it. This is a fun ride. I'm not one that is usually bothered by rides like this, but in a couple places, this one got to me...like the part on the ski slopes...I knew they had us!

We also hit Mission:SPACE...which is awsome...the Sea's with Nemo...very cute (how do they manage to sneak educational stuff in there too?)...Figment is almost my new favorite character! The big disappointment was Honey, I Shrunk the Audience...this is way too long, including the wait to get in, very boring, and not very funny.

When World Showcase opened, we headed that way. First to Canada to see their new movie...which I loved (Martin Short helps that one...and it doesn't hurt Canada is such a beautiful place!). We wandered through most of the countries...caught a ride on Maelstrom...not sure I like the idea of them herding you through the theatre to watch the movie...should do that first (we missed the movie...escaped with the departing crowd) (I did want a Viking helmet tho...love the horns and braids...I resisted the temptation). Great Britian has replaced their Scottish stuff with soccer stuff...didn't care for that. The rest of the World, we kinda hit and missed. We did stop in to see the Three Caballeros...I thought this was cute.

We used one of our counter service meals at Yorkshire County Fish and Chips. This place is good. Lots of fish, lots of chips, very hot and tasty. They have a nice picnic area right beside them on the lake...we sat and enjoyed our meal and watched water traffic. In fact, they were setting up the fire works for the show...they have this down to a science..I guess if you do it as many times as they do you should know what you are doing!

As this was the Food and Wine Festival, you know we had to try the wines. We tried three difference kinds from some we had at PFTS. The way they have the booths set up really works...very efficient. And darn good wine!

Funny story...close to the entrance, a man and his wife were sitting on a bench talking to another couple. The other couple had apparently ask what all the booths were for. The man on the bench was explaining what the F&W Festival was about. The other couple started to walk away when the man on the bench said "by the way, it costs $110 each to walk around the world and get a taste of it all." Judging by his look and speech, he should know...I think he hit all of em!!!

Our dinner reservations for the night were in the Mexico Pavilion for 6 pm. On the way, we stopped at the nightly Eat to the Beat Concert. For anybody that is a fan of this guy, I am first going to apologize.

Live, on stage, the man who put the Part in the Partiridge Family...the one and only...David Cassidy!!! I have three comments then I'm going to leave it alone. First, this is one short dude...no wonder Susan Dey made so much fun of him on the show. Second, he is not in a wheelchair...I thought he was like 87 by now. And third...he still cannot sing...he never could.

To Mexico and the San Angel Inn for dinner. It seemed to me like they had added like 40 tables in this place since the last time I was here. You could literally bump elbows with the people at the next table. However, we could not have had a better CM server, Victor. He took it all in stride and was very gracious the whole time. I had the Filete Motuleno and the Vanilla Flan. Even tho the place was packed, the food arrived hot and so good...and for the life of me, I cannot remember what was in it. Meals are served with chips and salsa, which is also very good and spicy. Really didn't expect the salsa to have so much kick in a place that caters to so many people...thought it would be a little tamed down.

Again, I will put a concluding TR about my feelings about restaurants.

The weather and crowds could not have been better. This was the warmest day we had but not uncomfortable and the only day the sun stayed out all day. We never had to wait in line more than a couple minutes for any ride. As the day wore on, the crowd in the World started to build, but by the time that happened, we were ready to leave. I cannot begin to tell you how bad my legs were starting to ache!!!

Donna sez...I truly enjoyed walking around the world and seeing all the different cultures so accurately portrayed. We watched a really good balancing act in the street near France. It was breath taking to see the guy up on top of 4 or 5 chairs which were balanced on 4 wine bottles.. I aslso was tempted to get a Henna tatoo, but they weren't on our list and were a bit pricey for something that isn't permenant.
We saw so much and tasted so many things, it all runs together in a blur, so if i get a little out of order, you know why.
The rides were great. I did really well on the space thingie since I'm very claustophobic and it was a tight fit. I only stopped breathing once...lol. Soaring was more my style. I love the sensation of flight and it didn't matter that my feet were dangling even if I did catch myself pulling them up a couple of times to avoid a peak or the water when we soared in to get a better view.
I also love the kiddie rides. The animation in these rides is to die for. As an adult I look to see what tricks I can uncover, but after the first 2 or 3 minutes I forget all that and just enjoy the whole thing.
I have to agree with Mike on the Eat to the Beat concert. I was entertained by the lady in front of us who was jumping, Dancing, screaming and clapping her hands over her head while her ten year old daughter kept telling her to be quiet. The daughter finally gave up and moved down towards the stage to take pictures.
I wasn't impressed with David Cassidy ,and again, like Mike, I apologize to those who do like him. I never cared too much for him as a teen idol either.
Our meal was great. I had the Filete Motuleno which was something with beef in it. I had the Cariro Tata for desert which was.....you guessed it......chocolate. I really enjoyed the music that was done up in the market place. It made me feel like we were really in Mexico. I imagine they would have come down to the dining floor had there been any room for them.
By the time we got finished eating I was stuffed and sleepy and my feet are sore and blistered. Good advice is that by the third day you need to consider taking a break at some point. Our break was our fourth day, when we decided to rest a bit and take it slow.

This is Mexico...I probably have more pictures on the other cameras we took which were left over from the wedding, but this one is all I could find on the digital.

Disney now has a new black princess which seems much more important to adults than little girls of all races...
