So I mentioned in my previous post that I have been watching the Sopranos. My boss bought the entire box set in the UK,and I've been borrowing it over the weekends. So far I'm starting season three.I've developed an enormous crush on Tony Soprano. Some people may find this strange. But there is just something so endearing about his character. He is a huge mafia boss who hangs out in strip clubs, evades taxes and the law,and kills at a whim...but at the same time,he is just a regular person, trying to cope with problems that most ordinary people have to.He tries to be a good father, husband and son.He suffers from depression, crippling panic attacks and yes,he even cries. He ponders life and death and the meaning of it all.
I guess in a way,his character is so likeable, because so many of us (myself included) can relate.Even the (seemingly) strongest, toughest people have the same thoughts. We all worry about our families, are we good enough? And when we die, what is there?
I know it's only a show, and I know that he is only a character, but it makes you realise that everyone has their own little world of problems.Every person you pass on the street,is a person just like you and me,with their own thoughts, beliefs, worries.
Whether or not this post made any sense (I tend to ramble),watch the show.It is brilliant. If not for the deeper meanings, then for the drama and action...and naked chicks!
