On Saturday night, the cheerleading coaches have a spirit/hair party. The girls come with ponytails full of curlers or just with a ponytail and get the curlers put in. I did Olia's hair with curlers before she went. I think I put in about 30 sponge rollers. Apparently that wasn't enough curlers. They redid her hair. SHe came home with 93 CURLERS in her ponytail! The person who did her hair said that they never had to put that many curlers in anyone's hair. She looked like she had a behive under her bandana! The curlers were piled on top of each other. They put so much spray on her hair that it was stiff as cardboard! They said that by next year, with longer hair, that she will need over a hundred curlers. Olia has beautiful, thick hair that grows fast! It was funny to look at her with the beehive on her head! They had to sleep in the curlers so that the pontails would be really curly for the competition!
Sunday morning we went shopping for an interview outfit for Renee. She has an interview to be in a special year long student teaching program, with an option to go to Sweden for a few months to student teach. Since she is in the honors college, they will pay all or most of her airfare. Then we rushed home, had lunch, and headed off to the cheerleading competition! Olia was SO EXCITED! And she looked so cute in her cheerleading outfit!
