I've got more weirdness to report today. In fact, this other weird thing just happened a few minutes ago. I was sitting here reading around SC when my phone started making the sound that I had a voicemail. That was odd because I never heard it ring. And I know the ringer wasn't turned off, because someone had already called me earlier and it rang just fine.

But I went ahead and dialed the voicemail number so I could see who it was. And it usually tells me what number called me before it gives me the message. But this time it just said it was from an unknown caller. And the message was a bunch of static, but I could hear a voice in the background. I have no idea what it was saying though because it was too garbled up. And then the call just ended.

It was really weird, but I figured that maybe someone accidentally dialed my number and didn't realize the phone was on. But then I started thinking, my phone never rang. That was the weird part. So I looked back through the incoming call log, and there was nothing listed there. Nothing except the call I got earlier from my friend. So it was super weird. I'm not really sure how you get a voicemail without someone actually calling you. Is that possible somehow?

The same thing happened about a week ago on our home phone. We have caller ID so we don't usually answer unless we know the number. And this particular call said 'out of area'. So I just ignored it and let the machine pick it up. I figured it was a telemarketer. And maybe it was? But when the machine picked it up, all you could hear was this horribly loud static sound and this weird voice in the distance that you couldn't make out. But then the static turned to a buzzing sound, and it was so loud, that I just picked the phone up and hung it up again so it would disconnect from the machine.

I didn't think much of that at the time though. I was sure it was just some automated dialer gone wrong. But after getting this weird voicemail, when no one even called me, it makes me wonder if something weird is going on. Especially after what happened to me on Friday with my necklace.

I swear my life is just ridiculously outlandish, but I don't know how to explain the things that happen. None of it makes any sense. But if someone knows a way to get a voicemail message without anyone calling your number, let me know. I wouldn't mind an easy explanation. Because right now, I don't have one.....

I have no idea how someone would be able to leave a voicemail without showing up in the call log. It's not possible with my phone -- even the "withheld" or "unknown" callers show up as such in the missed calls list. Dude, you're just racking up freaky events lately!

Infernal--I have no idea how that can happen either. I really don't know what to make of it. It could be nothing, but it's still weird! I wish I could figure out what the garbled voice was saying. Nat said it sounded like someone saying, "I, [something unintelligible], release." And all I could make out was something that sounded like, "I am peace" or "I have peace". So who knows? Spooky....

Interesting. You really do have some strange shit happening all the time don't you? There probably could be some sort of explanation for this, but I don't have one yet.

I don't know how you'd get a voice mail, if no one called you. That's never happened to me. And I'm not sure how it's possible.

    Weird, dude. Weird.

There is an easy explanation, but I would prefer to believe that you are being contacted - some one has a message for you so just continue to listen.  :)

Now for an easy explanation - I don't know what service provider you have and if all do the following, but if you have Verizon (which I do) Wireless - if you call someone and you leave a voicemail message for them because they didn't answer, there is a list of instructions you get when you the message.  One of them is "leave a message for this caller" - so you hit the appropriate button and the call will go directly to their voicemail without the phone ringing through.  I do this quite often with my family if I don't feel like having a conversation with them at the time.

This could be the easy explanation, but as I said above - I prefer to believe that someone has a "message" for you considering all that you have experienced.  It doesn't mean a bad message - it could be a wonderful one - when you get a chance, just close your eyes, breathe deeply and ask the universe if someone needs to speak with you and what they would like.

Oops - btw - it only works with if you both have Verizon (like I said, I don't know if other providers have this). and Queen - I believe the movie to which you are referring is called "White Noise" with Michael Keaton

futuregoddess: oh thank you that's the movie!!!

That is strange! I believe there is a new movie out with Shea La Bouf in it (the transformers guy) and it starts just like this!! By the way the 'out of area' or 'unknown caller' means it from overseas.. thats what you get when you're getting an ISD call.. I know because I make and get a lot of those (bf).. but the voicemail without ringing is just strange!

edit: Oh I just read the comments above.. thats the movie! and another explanation! but still I would like to believe its strange.. its much more fun!    :-)

Mr. Box--It is really weird huh? I'm still scratching my head....

queen--I saw that movie, and this is sort of like that huh? Weird...

FG--Thanks for the explanation, because I didn't know about that. However, I have Sprint. And we don't have an option like that when you call someone. It just rings through and if the person doesn't answer, it goes to voicemail. But to my knowledge, there isn't any way to bypass actually making the call with this service. I do think it might be a good idea for me to try and figure out who it is that might want to talk to me. Because it must be important considering everything that's happened lately.

dia--With our service 'unknown caller' usually means the number has been blocked. A lot of people do that with their phones so when they call someone, the person doesn't get their number. But I know the out of area ones are usually overseas, and since I know no one overseas, I don't answer :-P

ET - Let me just say that it's much more fun to believe it's something more cosmic that caused this incident with you (unless for whatever reason it's really beginning to worry you).  However, my sis in law had Sprint for a while.  I know on my phone, if I needed to tell her something but didn't feel like getting into an hour long conversation, I have the option within my voicemail (and within my little 'message' area on the phone where I check texts as well) to just leave the voicemail also.  Doesn't matter who has what company on the other end, so I would leave her voicemails like that so her phone wouldn't ring, but she'd still get the message.  She'd swear up and down she never heard it ring, I'd tell her 'Yeah dude, it was weird, rang like twelve times!' and she's be all frazzled thinkin' her phone wasn't working .... thus making it easier for me to avoid conversations.  Horrible I know, but leaving a voice message without the call going through is possible.  Again though, LOTS more fun thinking it's the other way though!

I don't know for sure what happened in your case, but I will sometimes get voice mail without it ringing through.  I'm not sure how, but there are real messages there so it's possible somehow.

It could be possible that someone is trying to get a message to you from a really long distance ;)

You got a message from beyond?  He's such a nice guy, not weird at all!  ;)
  • evil_twin said on Nov 10, 2008....
hegemone--So you can place a voicemail message to someone without calling them, through your own voicemail box? I guess I never knew that. But hey, if it's possible, then it probably was just a wrong number that went wonky or something. I've just never had that happen and didn't know you could leave a message without calling someone first....

uniquely--It probably was a phone glitch. But man, after all the certifiably wacko stuff that keeps happening to me, I've started questioning everything! :-P

mimi--So that's who it was! It was beyond! I gotta tell you, he needs to speak clearer next time he calls me ;-)

    E.I.

There is tons of evidence of people being phoned by dead loved ones. Usually to warn them or to tell them they love them or something important  etc…

Did you erase it? I would tape it and see if I could find some sound expert or what not to remove the static to try to hear the words. Very exciting, yes.

On the down side I recently read a novel where the evil spirits could get to you that way. It was a work of fiction though.

Kyle, like i said...the spirits are trying to contact you, think about it they are always around you, trying to get your attention...humm i wonder how you could go about talking to then. you should find someone that does and see if they can help you or at least explain all the stuff that's been going on...just a thought :)

tipo--I didn't erase it. It's still on my phone. But I don't know where I'd find a sound expert to listen to it. But I really believe in stuff like that too.

alls--I think the spirits really want my attention too! I don't know how to talk to them better, unless I hire some sort of psychic medium to do a seance....
