The weirdest thing happened to me today. Don't most of my blogs start out like that? Yeah, I know. But I swear that weird shit just happens to me. I can't help it! Anyway, I was at work and I was standing there talking to one of my co-workers. And I wear this necklace everyday. It's on a silver chain and it has a little silver star hanging from it.
And I was standing there and she told me she was going to go to lunch. So I told her that was fine with me. And at that exact moment, the little silver star on my necklace literally flew off my neck and landed about 5 feet away from me. She was just staring at me and goes, "what the hell was that??" And I said I didn't know, because I didn't even realize what had happened yet. Until I saw the pendant laying on the floor behind her.
I reached up to the chain, assuming that it had broken or something. But it wasn't broken. And it wasn't unclasped either. So my next assumption was that the pendant had broken. It's got a little solid ring that holds it onto the chain. But when my co-worker picked it up, it was totally intact. The ring wasn't broken or bent or changed in any way. And yet it just flew off the chain and went across the room.
I had a witness! It's not just me being a total fruitcake. She was sort of freaked out actually and said I was possessed. But neither of us had an explanation. Because she actually saw it flying off my neck. It didn't even just fall off, it traveled 5 feet. And was totally intact.
Explanations? Ideas?
Even if I went with my usual idea, "a ghost did it!" how the hell did a ghost pull off a necklace charm without breaking it? It's physically impossible to remove a pendant off a chain without unclasping it or breaking something. Yet, it happened. And we both saw it happen.
After a few minutes of weirdness and examining the charm, I just undid the chain and slipped the pendant back on. And I'm still wearing it. And I keep pulling on it to see if it'll pop off somehow. But so far, nope. It's solidly on the chain.
Why do such weird things keep happening to me?

uniquely--The star is a religious symbol, so it's something important to me and my beliefs. But it didn't seem like whatever did that, was angry, even if it got tossed across the room. I didn't feel anything tug at the chain. It was just somehow removed and thrown. I'm still scratching my head over it...no explanation!

(you and your lady) My only thought is that it was a time jump kind of thing---you know how things supposedly get "moved" and then moved back--like losing your keys, and then there they are right on the table where you swore they were to begin with.

I am starting to think it isnt the house that has spirits but that you are possessed. I am curious was it a Star of David or a Pentacle - because both have very different implications when it comes to spirits. I am also curious about the exact convo you were having with your co-worker.....could you/she have said something to tick off the spirit. One other explanation is that this spirit is a one who likes you and Nat together and seeing you talk to some other woman ticked it off....: ) -

FG--I don't think I'm possessed exactly, but I think spirits follow me around. Possessed makes it sound like I need an exorcist! The star was a pentacle, by the way. And our conversation was about lunch time, and nothing more interesting than that. She just said she was going to eat and I said okay. Although your last idea does make a bit of sense....

But now, knowing you wear a Pentacle, I understand why you have the spirits in your home as well. You may want to perform a cleansing (or at least a conversation) with the spirits who are with you. -

I think a spirit likes to fuck with you. It finds you amusing. It enjoys fucking around with you. I think that is the meaning of this episode. It wants you to know it is there and it isn't just your imagination so it did something in front of a witness. Maybe it read your mind or the girl's mind and saw some potential flirting going on, and just decided okay, I'm going to do something now. Maybe it said Lunch? Oh really? You're talking to this girl about lunch? I can read her mind and you can't, and I see what she's thinking, and .... FG--I'm glad you don't think I'm Linda Blair possessed :-P But I have known for quite some time that spirits do follow me around. And I think it's because they know I'm sensitive to them. We have cleansed our house several times, but it doesn't seem to stop things for long. Especially when things happen to me at work too. This incident isn't the first thing that's happened there. I had stuff fly off my shelves a month or two ago too. But I think whoever it is, is looking out for me, and not wanting to hurt me. And I think these incidents are their way of letting me know they're with me.
CW--I do have a sensitivity to spirit energy. And I think that's why so many things must happen to me. It could have had something to do with my co-worker who passed away last year. It's been almost a year now, so maybe she's still hanging around? It's very possible...
Rc--I believe completely in the paranormal too. But I must say, this experience was really unexplainable! Because I'm still unsure how a pendant can be removed without breaking....

I came back to this post expecting to have something new to say on it, but I still don't! :-p I do kind of like winterslight's theory though. Although it seems mostly to me to be more like you said, just an attention-getting maneuver. And not just "hi, I'm still here" but "sit up and pay attention!" as far as that goes.

Don't ask me how. But I assume it's somehow possible.There have been stories of spirits stealing objects and taking them out of this world, and into their world. Where do the objects really go? And how can you take something solid into another dimension and make it disappear?It has to be the same concept. If they can remove an object and take it into what appears to be thin air, then why couldn't they remove an object from your chain in the same manner?I seriously have no idea what I'm talking about. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. But I still believe anything is possible.As for WHY this happened? Dude, no idea. That doesn't sound so scary to me. I have dealt with my own set of strange happenings. I think that someone wanted ya'lls attention. Couldn't it even been a Godforce that caused that to occur? That seems more likely than a ghost with that situation. They say "With God all things are possible." It's possible. It also makes me wonder what belief I should carry. Eh, I always wonder that. If Christian belief is correct, that would explain the star coming off. Was it a pentacle? If it was the star of David, then I wouldn't understand that since Jesus was Jewish. Maybe someone was trying to gently guide you to him. It would be nice to know if someone was trying to put you on the "right" track. That might explain why things have been happening to me while I have done the past few spells. -

Mr. Box--That's an interesting thought. That if spirits can actually find ways to touch things and move them to other places, they could probably figure out a way to do this too. It's just weird! It'd still be weird if the necklace was ripped off my neck by something unseen. But to have it mysteriously removed without damaging anything? Too strange....
hellbound--It wasn't really scary to me, just kind of unsettling because it made no real sense. It was a pentacle, not a star of David. But I didn't get the sense that they were trying to hurt the pendant. Otherwise they'd probably just rip it off. I think it was just designed to get my attention somehow....

I know I do. I love all the different paranormal studies and I love hearing stories about encounters with ghosts. I believe in aliens, too. Think about it - if it's really just us in the universe, that's an awful waste of space, isn't it?... read entire post
