The Tulip chair was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1956 for the Knoll company of New York City. Designed primarily as a chair to match the complementary dining table. The chair has the smooth lines of modernism and is experimental with materials. The chair is considered a classic of industrial design.

The chair is often considered "space age" for its futuristic use of curves and artificial materials. The design was popularized by its use on the original Star Trek television series (1966-69).

The base of the tulip chair is of cast aluminum with a rilsan-coated finish. The shell is molded fiberglass, with a reinforced, plastic bonded finish.

I normally don't do birthdays, not even my own.
Dangit, I'm not even supposed to be blogging these days (I'll explain why later).
But I just have to say this, before I return to my slave ship:

Someone's birthday and big milestone ...
lone wolf walks the empty avenues of dawn.
sees things here and there, forgotten or unknown.
he's neither happy nor sad, or sorry or mad
it's neither good nor bad. it just is.
not a fad, not for food or gold....
