I guess it was Shirley Chisholm who was the first black person to make a run at the presidency. I believe she was a Congresswoman in Brooklyn at the time, the late 60s or the 70s. She had assertiveness. She was a very tough and aggressive woman. It was all about black power. She had no polish, not like Barack Obama. She struck me as a woman with a lot of hatred in her. She put her name out as a candidate but she never had a chance to win.

Then there was Jesse Jackson. By the time he ran for the presidency he had mellowed out quite a bit and he had started to sound like Martin Luther King. But in his younger days he was a white-hating firebrand. My brother met him once as a court reporter taking down Jesse Jackson's testimony on a case. This was in the old days, long before Jackson thought about the White House. Jesse breathed hatred of whites. He was a Kill Whitey type. He mellowed out an awful lot by the time he ran for the presidency and spoke of a Rainbow Coalition. In the old days the red of the rainbow would have been Caucasian blood.

Then came Al Sharpton, who I can only think of as a clown because he achieved his fame by defending a lying retard who claimed to have been raped by a white cop. She went on to claim that the white cop smeared excrement on her. Every word of her statement turned out to be the mad ravings of a lunatic, and yet Al Sharpton was by her side. I also remember Al Sharpton's Days of Rage, like the time he orchestrated a demonstration at rush hour, for all the people who had just worked all day in Manhattan and were attempting to drive home to New Jersey. This bastard was blocking their way home to dinner and relaxation. If I had been the first car to face their barricade I would have kept going, knock their fucking barricade over and go home. Do your damn Day of Rage somewhere else you lunatic, you media whore, you lying fool. Actually, in later years I kind of liked Al Sharpton, but I'll never accept his nonsense.

Now along comes Barack Obama. He speaks intelligently, he doesn't radiate either hatred or ignorance. He's a gentleman. It doesn't matter what his race is, he's an alternative to the Republican philosophy of giving more and more tax reductions to the unbelievably rich and leaving nothing at all in the budget to help with college tuition or health care. He's an alternative to the Republican philosophy of continuing to take thousands of dollars from every one of us out of our paychecks and yet giving absolutely nothing in return, just so long as their prime constituency, the 20+ millionnaires, don't have to part with their own money.

I've never trusted Democrats. They are to blame for the hemorrhaging of American jobs overseas. They are to blame for the lack of health coverage for millions of us. Those fiascos can be laid at Clinton's door, among others of both parties. It wasn't Good Guy Democrat vs. Bad Guy Republican. It was usually hapless idiot Democrat who ain't worth a damn vs. treasonous and crooked Republican who only cares about you if you have 20 million dollars.

Republicans manage to hide their 100% treason against the American people and their complete identification with the 20-millionnaires by throwing smoke screens around that manage to entrap nearly half the country. They wrap their Benedict Arnold selves in the American flag. They pretend to stand for Morality with a capital M, though they are just as perverted as Democrats. They pretend to be more in tune with God when in fact every time a Congressman is caught with his pants down in a public bathroom with another guy it is always, and I mean always, a Republican. The Dems have their share of hetero sex scandals, but the homo male sex scandals are always some Republican Congressman. They pretend, pretend, pretend, and it is enough to fool half the people most of the time.

Looking at the right side of the map, looking at the reds and the blues, it looks like the Civil War all over again. The North is Democrat, the South is Republican. If Lincoln had allowed the South to go its own way, there would be a lot more unity in both regions. The North and the South are inherently different and remain so to this day. It is really very much like two different countries joined against their will.

The South supports the Benedict Arnold phony-assed Republicans, probably because they are stupid there. They buy into the phony bullshit image of Republicans as being closer to God, when in fact they are so much further away because the only thing they know is greed.

The North supports the hapless and gutless idiot Democrats who didn't have the balls to say no to Bush's Iraq war. Didn't have the brains, guts, integrity, to stand up to it. Useless hapless idiots. I remember listening to liberal Democrat of New Jersey governor whatshisname, you know the one. The rich guy (surprise surprise). I'll have to google him, hold on, I forgot his damn name. Jon Corzine, that's the guy. I met him at someone's house in my town long before he became governor. He was a senator at the time, and he was explaining what a bad idea it was to go to war in Iraq over the supposed weapons of mass destruction, and he finished off his idiotic little speech by saying that he was going to vote in favor of giving Bush the money to do the war. What the fuck! What a useless asshole. Why not stand up for your convictions, Dipsy Doodle?

Oh I know, he had his reasons. They always have their reasons. Stupid reasons, but reasons nonetheless. Personally I think the real reason was cowardice, scaredycat afraid to stand up to power.

I don't see how the Republican party could have had any chance in hell to win this election, considering that anyone with a lick of sense or a lick of fairness has to hold the Republican party responsible for all the major screwups that have happened the past 8 years. It has been a dismal 8 years. Their record is like the Detroit Lions. No wins, all losses. They suck. They just suck. Every single thing they tried to do ended out a dismal failure. They suck so bad. And they should suck, since the only thing they ever care about is enriching the already rich. That's their whole reason for being. That's the only thing they do.

Their supporters are brainwashed dummies who buy into their bullshit, who went for the smokescreen, who don't take a step back and realize that you can flush the shit down the toilet, and all you're left with is tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich, tax cuts for the rich, and tax cuts for the rich. It doesn't trickle down to you, dumb ass. It is just tax cuts for the rich. They buy Lear Jets with it, dumb ass.

The ONLY, and I mean ONLY, good reason to vote Republican is because the Democrats suck. There is no positive reason to ever vote Republican because the Republican party is nothing but selfishness by the mega wealthy, that's all. Selfishness and smoke screens about homos and capitalism and socialism and being a good little boy or girl. People just can't get past the smoke screens and see what these bastards are really doing with their power. They are giving tax cuts to the rich, and watching as the price of college tuition for four years crashes through $100,000. They are bankrupting the Treasury and loving every minute of it because it allows them to shrug their shoulders and say there is no money to do ANYTHING AT ALL for America, so fuck you, and by the way, we're decreasing taxes on the filthy rich again, so fuck you again.

Yes, we can do a lot better.
I was having this conversation with my mom the other day.

"We just starting to get ahead.  We worked all those years and saved trying to do better, now it's just starting to pay off, and whammo................I really hope our taxes and electric bill aren't going to go through the roof now.
We're already paying  $20,000 a year, and that doesn't even include sales tax.
That's almost 1/4 of our income.  How fair is that?  I was thinking about taking on more hours, but I'm afraid of making more money.  I don't want our rate to go up to 39%, it'll kill us!"

    Lalala, what's my point?
You're right, we can do better!

Sarah Palin would be a disaster for the Republicans,
in my humble opinion.
