When Microsoft unveiled Silverlight, its generated tons of shockwave in
the blogosphere, the rich internet application from Microsoft hit
center stage and it took the web by storm. Silverlight is a cross
browser, cross device, it’s a browser plug-in that provides online
video and interactive media applications. The Redmond’s new rich
internet application boast strong development tools, perfectly adopted
for rich interactive web applications, this will take user experience
one step further. Microsoft launched Silverlight to compete head to
head with industry leading Adobe Flash which dominates the web video
market, for years Adobe ruled this turf unchallenged but now there is a
new kid on the block that want to steal that title! And it’s something
big and scary and with pretty good reputation in software. Microsoft
Silverlight threatens Adobe’s business, Silverlight is awesome and
great, it’s a developer’s dream. Silverlight will help you deliver the
next generations of Microsoft .NET–based media and rich interactive
applications. So far, adoptions for Silverlight is growing , and
Silverlight is on rampage, its hit another strike when Netflix
announced that they will take Silverlight for streaming movies, for
Netflix this is part of their improvement as they continued to improve
their streaming services for its nearly 9 million subscribers.
Microsoft Silverlight has been winning the “platform wars” here, and
it’s got some big deals such as NBC, Is this end of Adobe Flash? The
web got richer, as it goes it will needs some great technologies. A
great battle has just started; a battle of the two web platforms,
Microsoft Silverlight technology and rival Adobe Flash, the two will
vie for market share in the burgeoning RIA arena. Who will win this
