agh! what a day, I have a monster headache and my fiancé is playing
'limp bizkit' so loud my head wants to burst.
But thats the only way I get his ass in front of the pc so he can do some studying, goodness knows how he passed electrical engineering so well the past few years.
So I'm cool with that.

Anyhow so we got up this morning to go have the cars washed at the petrol station down the road from our home.
As we were sitting there waiting for the cars, this guy on a motorcycle keeps driving up and down the road, the bike sounded pretty crappy so we figured he's just another backyard mechanic testing one of his "works of art ".

A little while later we decided to take one of our newly washed cars for a Sunday cruise and as we drove back home we saw ambulances, police and fire brigade blocking the entire road, we passed slowly and we saw the same guy's bike from this morning crumpled up into a ball of iron next to the roadside, on the left lay his lifeless body only half covered under a blanket in a pool of blood.

Made me think how short life is and about my dream from the other night, what if that was me before I decided to turn back on the right road?
That could have been me.

Now South-Africa is not the best country if you're looking for the best in medical roadside assistance, I sat in the car thinking: "what is this guy's family feeling?" I know how I felt. (my boyfriend was killed in a motorcycle accident in my matric year) He was laying there for almost an hour.

I feel a sleepless night coming, I usually battle to sleep after something like this happens I always think about the family it's horrifying!!!!
I saw this guy driving up and down the road on a seriously beaten bike like a moron ( me and my fiance both being biker brats we were making fun of his old crappy sounding bike and the way he drove it, he obviously never owned a superbike before, and if he did he sure as hell did'nt know how to ride it.) and the next minute he's lying in a pool of his own blood.

Life is indeed short and can turn you upside down at any given time.
Enjoy it while you can.

Hi mischa - I'm new to your blog but noticed in a Halloween comment that you're from South Africa.  My friend here, cuppajava is in Durban.  His wife was killed 3 years ago by a drunk driver.  He too learned how short life can be.  The professionals that were at the scene before he got there were about as compassionate as a hyena pack that's just found an injured lion cub.

So many people moan about our medical care here and our National Health Service but they have no idea how hard it can be in the US and SA.

Take care (hey you're a fellow biker - I had to comment LOL ;-)

power is nothing without control is what i always say lioness!
The adrenalin rush on a well oiled superbike is unlike any other but the day that you lose your responsibility that comes with the power underneath you, thats the day you can start saying goodbye to your loved ones.
I used to pull a few ugly tricks out my sleeve on a bike and caused my mother countless sleepless nights but she knew it's my passion and it's what I live for so she never blamed me but mothers will always be mothers.
I can never begin to explain the horror and pain that comes with losing a loved one to such an accident and people can never understand why I still love superbikes but it was their time to go and it was my responsibility to learn from that.

please do drop by again. :)
