I think SC at this post when i put it up last week,so I have decided to try and re post it and see what happens.my PC went into hospital this morning, just to top everything off,so now i am feeling just a little lost...!!

Post Update - Ok,this one has been sitting in draft since Wednesday evening. On Thursday Morning i was awoken at about 4 30 am with the sudden urge to go to the toilet - dont you hate it when that happens? So anyway - up I get - but i am feeling very queasy and very weird.Almost to the point that I want to fall into bed again.I make it to the toilet just in time.Only to report back there about 20 minutes later. This carried on for the next 2 hours or so.At about 645am the vomiting started.I tell you - i havent felt that physically sick in a looooong time.I only managed to make it to the doc in the afternoon. He said 'you ate some bacteria' well,I thought, thanks for pointing out the obvious here.So he diagnosed me with gastro entoritus and gave me yesterday - and today off.So since wednesday lunch time,I have had no solids and lots of meds.I am still feeling pretty crappy - so if you dont see or hear from me for a while - i am in some premedicated sense of time.I still have severe stomach cramps - not throwing up though - mind you, there is nothing in my system TO throw.I am dreading eating solid food - but i guess i will have to soon, otherwise i may just waste away - and i cant let that happen, now can i ?

Been having a little weird patch I guess -nothing too serious really - just a realisation or two that sometimes you need to look both ways before you cross the road.
So the fireworks season is over for the Hindu population for another year.I know my pets will be happy. Well until New Year and then it all starts again. It is amazing at how many parents allow their kids to use fireworks un supervised. Its about this time every year when you pick up the newspaper and somewhere on the front page,is a story of a child who has had to have some extremity or other removed due to injury.
This year ,on Monday night,a 13 year old lit a cracker inside a tube.It didnt go off the way that  it was supposed to,so he stuck his head in side the tube and ................BOOM ! It apparently blew half his mouth away.He was 13.Question : where the fuck were his parents?
Then you have two males in their 30's who had to have fingers amputated after crackers exploded.MMMMmmmmm Would someone please tell these drunk assholes that they are supposed to let the things go after they light the fuse. The instruction doesnt say 'light fuse and run for nothing'

Oh crikey - I remember my poor pussy cat, Harry around Guy Fawkes Night.  It would start about 4 weeks before hand!!  I mean - why do they have to sell the fireworks that early?  I think, the only way you should be able to buy them that early is if you can prove you are part of a community display that is being set up.  A certificate from the local police station or fire station maybe?

The fireworks that light up the sky and expand are such a delight aren't they?  It's those with the ridiculous loud bangs that I don't get.  They are so boring!!  Nothing to see?. . .

Harry would sit and cringe underneath anything he could crawl under - he was petrified at those loud bangs.  We obviously kept him in nearer to the night but you can't keep a cat housebound for 4 weeks!  I have since learned about different techniques to help animals cope with this time of year but those particular techniques didn't seem to be around back then.

For anyone with pets that are afraid of the noise I have since learned that, if you play some noises that are similar to the bang of fireworks or create them yourself using a spoon on a saucepan (now stopp laughing you lot :) a few times in the evenings leading up to Bonfire Night.  Each time, let the noises get a bit louder.  When the person makes the noise, no one is to react at all.  show the pet that these noises do not bother you in any way and there is nothing to fear.  When the real fireworks begin to go off, again, don't react to the animals behaviour.  I know that all we want to do is cuddle and try to calm our pets but reacting to their behaviour enhances it.  Eventually the pet will realise that these noise are ok and don't hurt anyone.

I know some people may think the same as i did at first.  It's good for animals to be afraid of them so they don't get injured right?  This is untrue.  A firework that is making a loud bang in the sky is no danger to anyone or any pet.  If anyone, dispicable as it may seem, wants to purposely injure an animal with a firework, the animal being afraid of noise will not protect it.

I do hope you get to enjoy Diwali CJ as I know this festival was part of your life for a very long time.

    Take care
