For every 100 households called, 75 to 80 refuse to be polled or don't answer their phones.

What is with the early vote thing ? I've been monitoring talk shows on the short wave and I can't believe what I've been hearing ! I'm not prejudice at least I'm fair but Al Sharpton is a real trouble maker. He's telling listeners that the areas in the country that aren't showing positive results for an Obama win must be corrupt and " We need to regroup and head that way to show our support . . .their not going to steel this election from us !" Sounds like a threat to me. I'm sad to say, but there seems to be a missing gene here . . . probably related to common sense. Are these folks truely that blind. I want the best for this country but I feel like there's more to this.
Blacks just do not get it. Blacks are voting for Obama almost exclusively because they perceive him to be black. It is a birds of a feather deal. What they do not understand is his philosophy. Hell, most of them do not even know what Obama stands for, or they do not care. Look at Colin Powell. He is not voting for Obama because he disagrees with McCain or Republicans all of a sudden. He is voting for Obama because he does not want to look like uncle Tom. What a reason to sell out your country. I am voting against Obama's philosophy, not his color. Blacks are making this about race. They are the only ones making this about race as far as I can tell. I have not heard one single non-black person even mention it. I have been saying all along that Obama will lose because people do not trust Democrats to get the job done given the situation we have in the world today. This is just a repeat of 2004. No one would admit that they were voting for Bush, but then they did. The Democrat party has to realize that most Americans understand the war in Iraq and, while they want out, they know it will take a while. They also have to realize that most Americans do not want UNRESTRICTED abortions and gay marriage. I think those are bigger issues than the Democrats think. And I think that D6's post is stating what I have been stating for months--that a lot of people are just not answering the phone when the pollsters call for one reason or another. I do not answer because I think polls are stupid. What possible good do they do either way? They are meant to discourage one side or the other to stay home or to turn out in droves. All I can say is, if you love this country and want it to keep operating the way it has successfully operated for 200 plus years, you had better get off your ass and go vote. Then you can get one of those bumper stickers that say: DO NOT BLAME ME, I VOTED FOR THE OTHER GUY
