According to General Motors, a total of 6,000 people have already made reservations for the 2010 Camaro. While that’s normally a good sign, there’s a minor hitch to it. General Motors was only planning to produce a maximum of 20,000 units for the first year of the new Camaro. Since the number of people placing orders may increase, GM will have to up its production numbers to accommodate any upcoming reservations for this vehicle. Although in all honesty, I don’t see that being that much of a problem for GM.
Per GM, out of the 6,000 orders made, 84 percent of these are for the SS version of the Chevy Camaro that sports a V-8 engine. Just in case you’re unfamiliar with what this vehicle can bring to the fold, the V-8 equipped Camaro can provide you with a horsepower of 400 hp on automatic transmission and 422 hp when running on a manual transmission. There’s also a V-6, 3.6-liter engine that can produce 300 hp.
So if you’re aching to get one for your collection, be sure to place a reservation real soon. The V-8 engine Camaro SS is currently priced at $30,995 while the V-6 model carries a price tag of $22,995 MSRP. Trust me, regardless of how pricey it is, this vehicle is bound to fly off the showrooms quickly.
