How pretty!  I want to go to the beach now!  I love walking through the sand like that and squishing my toes around.  Beautiful! :)

hinana - Up through this weekend it's been amazing.  Only chilling down in the evenings.  This morning though we had the heavy wet fog we typically get in "real winter" weather.  The surf was very vigorous that afternoon and it was about 80 degrees in the mid afternoon.

tizzy - you're always welcome to come along with me :)  My favorite part is scouring the beach for shells, pretty rocks and cool looking driftwood.

OH I love driftwood!  Well actually I love driftwood carvings, I have some beautiful ones I got back east!

Oh wow! The pictures are all beautiful u-i!! I love going to the beach as well.. the sounds of the waves is my favorite part.. it always soothes me..

tizzy - where I grew up there was a lot of driftwood.  I've seen some amazing carvings.  Here at Pacifica it is pretty scarce and small.  Lots of man made junk unfortunately.

dd - there is nothing more calming then the sound of the surf breaking.  I make a point of sitting on a rock and watching the surf when I go.  Glad you like the pictures.

wow, i want to be in those pictures. i'd be the girl wearing a large hat just staring out over the water :)
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 27, 2008....
    wishy - thanks!

fraggles - or better yet, the girl wearing the large hat staring at the surfers.  There were a couple of guys surfing a little, but they got out of the water before I could grab my camera.

Great pictures uniquely-ironic, I thought I was the only one interested in drift wood. I remember years ago my son had a large wire cage for Hermit Crabs we used interesting looking pieces of drift wood for their entertainment. Some of that driftwood is really beautiful. I can actually hear the waves hitting the beach with your pictures. :0)

CM - I love the smooth finish, twisted forms and even the color of most driftwood.  Have you ever seen a large driftwood stump made into a coffee table base?  It's really pretty!

I'm not sure but it sounds interesting. I bought my mother a petrified wood table back in the eighties, I paid about a thousand dollars for it. Today it's probably worth five thousand dollars. It's a beautiful piece of work.

unique- Pretty, but looks cold. That's probably because you have a coat on and its getting a bit chilly here, plus the wind and waves.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 27, 2008....
CM - sounds gorgeous!  I bet it has appreciated nicely.

BTV - It was actually pretty nice.  The coat is tied around my waist because it was too warm to wear.  The lump by my neck (in shadow) was my hands holding my camera.  The wind is almost always pretty strong and you'd think by now I'd learn to bring a cap to keep my hair tucked into.

theres nothing like it in this world.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 28, 2008....
queenie - do you not live near the beach?  I honestly don't know what kind of terrain your country is situated in.  The beach is a lot of fun.

scipio - I bet that house has million dollar views.  I'd be nervous though since the cliffs seem so sandy and crumbly.

winters - no, there really isn't much like the beach.
  • queenparanoia said on Oct 28, 2008....
well now that i live in manila i dont live near the beach... unlike in iloilo... ;-)
