My grandchildren were playing all day out in the snow. Thor was however away two hours attending a birthday party in a mall. I am surprised that young parents are still hiring hall, in this case a play hall where children are kept while parents shop. Usually you can leave them there for some money and go shopping but this time the parents rented the place. Don’t they realize that we are in economical crises here now?
When I was bringing my kids up we had the parties at home and sometimes for hours and hours. I remember one party when the kids started coming at 10 am , They were supposed to come at 3 pm and the last kids went at 10pm.
I baked for the parties and did all that needed to be done by my self. I guess some parents today are too busy working and some of them alas just making money.
I know that all kinds of places have been rented for birthday parties. Swimming pools and all kinds.
I fetched Thor at 3 clock. Seems to me that parents have the parties early now to be rid of the kids early. As I said before our parties started at 3.
The mall was full of people. It is the same place where I went to the movie last Saturday. And then I could hardly find a parking place and there are many of them. Down stairs, upstairs in front and behind the house. All around.
I saw that all the restaurants were full of people. Do they not know there is financial crises I thought. I mentioned this to Pálmi and he said. Many people are in denial. Then people must not get too depressed too he said. This is what my husband who has always been so careful about money and has lived frugally said.
Tonight I had some chopped sausages, rice, and lots of veggies. Cucumbers and tomatoes grown in Iceland. Everyone was happy. Thor continued playing in the snow with Freyja and Daria and I thought it was so nice to call them in for dinner. Just the way we kids were called in when I was a kid. We usually went out and played after dinner and they did too. The only thing that was different was that our dinner was always at 7 but theirs at 6.
I am linking something that Gnawingdog sent me in a comment
today.
I read in the paper this morning that each family will have 20% less spending money, that is for food and necessities that before.
