The other night I spent a few hours with a friend of mine. She asked me what it was I wanted.

After a moment I replied, "To be happy and healthy."

"I'd also like to go to Siberia" came a few moments later. "Why?" she replied.

The fact is, Siberia is one of the most inhospitable places on the face of the planet. There are not a great number of animals and plants that live there, and people live in a few sparsely populated towns, miles and miles apart. It is also the location of a pecuiliar incident that took place early in the 20th century, namely the Tunguska Explosion. Something streaked across the sky and exploded before it hit the ground, flattening trees in a circular pattern for a number of miles, shattering windows in those few sparsely populated towns, created shockwaves that resonated throughout the Earth and registered on primitive guages, and lit up the nightsky for at least a month due to the way it disturbed the atmosphere. There's also the story of the strange lifeform that was witnessed during the years following the incident.

I'd like to go to Siberia. I find the intense allure of the unknown and the desolate to be incredibly attractive. I find it strangley beautiful. It's a once in a lifetime trip that I believe I should undertake. If things went my way, I'd go in 2008, specifically during a full solar eclipse that some parts of Siberia would allow perfect angular viewing of the phenomenon. Heck, I'd bring a bottle of Corona, so as I'm standing in Siberia, watching a full solar eclipse, I'd pop it open and say, "Corona. Miles away from ordinary" because that would truly be the most unordinary Corona I've ever drank.

Now I need to save up for that. And if anyone would like to accompany me (and possibly help me out financially) in the sharing of an incredible once in a lifetime moment, by all means please do. They call this website SoulCast, why not do some soul searching with me?

It seems to me like jumping from Alaska to Siberia would be the ideal way to go. It's a dream right now. But its a dream that is attainable with a bit of effort.

Wow! I live in Russia, far from Siberia. My town is near St-Petersburg (officially my town is a part of SPB, but actually Pushkin looks like small town). And i'm dreamin of going 2 LA!! :) i'll be workin hard to visit America next year! I don't know... In Russia there are a lot of miles of unknown and desolate territory. Siberia is just the most popular. 2 be honest, i'm not so sure that life there is still so mysterious. I mean, technical progress might have reached Siberia 2... =) shame on me... i don't really know, what's going on in my own country =) Well, if U wanna see it by yourself, good luck! Anyway there must be unspoiled areas in Siberia, i think... :)

Siberia would be just a little too cold for me. Be sure you take someone or somthing to help keep you warm.

I hate this weather. All I want to do is rant and complain about everything. I still want to leave here. I still want to be a dental floss tycoon in Montana. I am woman. Here me roar! My cats have it great! All they want is to be fed and shit! I want to...
