There are millions of universes in which you exist right now. The person reading this is only aware of one of them. But then again, millions of yous are reading this right now.

This information comes from our most respected scientists. Doesn't it sound like a bunch of crap? But it has the stamp of orthodoxy on it. This is from string theory and the multiverse, and if you want to be a professional physicist or teacher you better teach it.

Why do I mention it? Because many of us are most comfortable with the position that science has to make sense to us, that any idea has to make sense to us, that we should only believe what is in front of us, that anything that sounds odd to us must be nonsense. But at the same time most of us are comfortable with the position that there is nobody more worthy of our belief than our top scientists, science is god. And the two positions are now mutually contradictory, so where does that leave you?

It leaves me feeling that all I really have to go on is my internal sense of what rings true. And that fails me. Because how the hell do I know.

I've been reading books about channeling of nonphysical spirits. Communication with incorporeal spirits. I think it's as reasonable as anything else, particularly since Lisa Williams and her conversations with "the dead" are as proven a fact as your own nose. And yet, most of the channels themselves doubt what they're doing and suspect that the material is coming from their own "subconscious". Jane Roberts, the Seth channel, kept wondering exactly that. If it's real, why don't they know it?

I'm reading a book that says it will teach you to channel. Near the end of the book there is a section about imagination. It says that imagination is a good thing, and a good way to start channeling is to just imagine that you are channeling. Make it up. In this way, the spirits will be more easily able to speak to you. The book goes on to praise imagination to the skies. It almost seems to be saying to go ahead and imagine the whole damn thing. Huh? What about a little word called truth?

It says that many people who are successful at channeling have self doubts all the time. Huh? If they doubt themselves, why should I believe them more than they believe it themselves?

One difference between me and most people is that I have absolutely no respect for public opinion. I toss it right in the garbage where it belongs. The fact that all those around me believe in something makes no points with me, and the fact that all those around me disbelieve in something doesn't discourage me. I think of the mass of people as a mass of idiots, and therefore their opinions must be discarded and recognized for the utter garbage that they are.

So that leads me to check out unusual things. But it doesn't mean I have to believe in them. I don't know what to make of it. Lisa Williams has proven herself to me dozens of times, and I'm sharp enough to know that she's for real and that her doubters are just wrong, 100% wrong. But as for all this channeling, sorry, I don't have an answer for ya. It's inconsistent, it is definitely incorrect sometimes, but is it ever of any value? Is there anything at all to it? I don't know.

7- I don't know if there's anything to the paranormal either, but like you, I check it out. Its interesting as hell and there is so much that can't be explained away.

As to the multi-universe thing, my readings in physics said that the scientists don't really believe it. If you use multi-universe for the math in physical theory it gets rid of infinities, so they like to use it.

    yeah, who needs infinities.

My wife Georgia O'Connor's work is identical to Lisa Williams from what I've seen of her on TV.

She has only "channeled" a few times and never in public. By that I mean during those few instances she has no idea what she has said or how much time has past and she always talks in the first person of the spirit who is communicating through her. It is flat out wierd stuff. I'm the only other person in the room and it really kinda freaks me to see it. She never "tries" to channel. It just happens during a normal reading.

    "straining belief" puts it mildly.
