Artworks are usually viewed only at art exhibits and museums, which is
something that lower class and even middle class families could not
afford easily. But with the Outdoor Art Gallery, viewing art is made
available to a broader audience from all walks of life.
“We want these works of art on billboards to enrich and entertain
people. We want them to engage in discussions about the artwork they
saw at North Luzon Expressway or how they liked the one in Cubao
better,” stated 2nd Media spokesperson, Dondie Bueno.
More than a venue for showcasing Filipino talents and teaching art
appreciation, the outdoor gallery art holds an important unifying
theme: environmental awareness and nature conservation. The billboard
arts will remind passersby how relaxing it feels to breathe in clean
air or walk barefoot on grass, and at the same time, prompt us to look
out for the planet we live in.
