Car designers find inspiration in a lot of things. Apparently, even from insects. Take for example this concept vehicle designed by Shao Yung Yeh, a 22-year old Taiwanese student from the Cheng Kung University.

The concept vehicle is aptly dubbed the Insecta Concept and its Yung Yeh’s take on what a city car should be like (which is Shao’s way of telling us that all cars look like insects). The design of the vehicle is inspired by a grasshopper. While it carries the standard green color of the said insect, what makes this vehicle special is what its suspension arms can do. Depending on the traffic you’re in, the leg-like arms of the Insecta Concept can actually rise up or lower down.

Aside from its one-of-a-kind suspension arms, the Insecta Concept will be equipped with four motors placed in each wheel. It will come with a battery pack that will be placed underneath the car. This battery pack will also be the center of gravity of the car.

Of course, being in its concept stages, don’t expect the Insecta Concept to be hopping down to the street near you anytime soon. For now, you’ll just have to contend with the pictures of this unique-looking vehicle online.
