People who just like to have fun, "Oh i dont care about that, lets just have fun!" We've all heard it before in most cases from a ditsy girl or rampantly gay man we might know. It seems to be an inherently 80s phenomenon, indeed Cindy Lauper sang 'Girls just want to have fun', and now thanks to her men all over the globe have to cringe everytime they are at a bad club, party or wedding reception in the full knowledge that girlish drunken dancing and or slurred abuse will follow in their direction for 'not' having fun. But who are these people and why do they berate us for not having fun? I wish we could go back to the late sixties and early 70s when fun generally meant smoking a whole heap of pot, taking acid listening to the best music ever made while making love with a free thinking beautiful young hippie girl...ohhhh; while the whole time voicing your disgust at the War in Vietnam and the establishment as a whole, while also having zoned out drug fuelled philosphical discussions on the meaning of life.... How sweet it would have been. But no! We now have to put up with these small brained consumer driven dipshits, telling us that we are wrong for 'thinking too much' or saying outrageously moronic things like 'Paris Hilton's so cool.' So how do we solve this problem folks? Well short of acting out some kind of Nazi style rounding up of those with an I,Q under 70 (better known as Britney Spears fans) and executing them - there isn't much we can do.  However if history repeats then we might see the demise of this phenomenon (at least to some degree) on it's own. When the market last crashed in 1987 - due mainly to greedy, small minded Wall street stockbrokers who wanted money to lure hot dumb bimbos that said things like 'you think to much' and 'I just want to have fun' - it ushered in a new dawn of pop-culture revolving around grunge rock, alternative culture and the re-invention of the word 'think'. Movies like Reality Bites and Edward Scissorhands among others, suddenly got people thinking again and moved pop-culture away from the unthinking material crap that had signified the 80s. Lets prey and dream and hope beyond hope that this once again occurs because to tell you the truth people who 'just want to have fun' are making this a very unfun place to live in.

No, I do THINK think... though I'd much rather prefer not to. Might be much more peaceful that way...
