Junie Browning is the nut on The Ultimate Fighter, the guy who goes crazy and attacks others for no reason, a bit moreso when he's drunk, but he's still nuts when sober. He has a blog on one of the martial arts websites.
He wrote that coach Frank Mir picked him first, not knowing that he was an idiot. That was pretty funny. At least Junie knows, and cheerfully admits, that he's an idiot.
When he jumped over the ring and tried to attack one of the other guys, opposing coach Big Nog grabbed him and kept him from carrying out the attack. The way Junie described Big Nog was "banana hands". That's pretty funny too. His point was that Big Nog has hands as big as bananas, and therefore impossible to escape from.
Krystof Soszinski started doing pranks, like putting itchy powder in the beds of opposing fighters. Junie played no part in the pranks and counter pranks, which included putting vinegar in beds, smelling like pee. In one case, one of the vinegared guys thought it actually was pee, and he proceeded to pee on someone else's bed.
Why didn't Junie participate in all this idiocy? After all, he is a self proclaimed idiot. It was not to stay out of trouble. He thought the pranks were lame. The only one he liked at all was peeing on someone else's bed. He found the pranks way too soft core for his tastes. Junie's idea of a cool prank would be to light someone's car on fire.
Meanwhile, Dana White continues to protect his boy Junie. Ratings! Dana doesn't want to lose this gold mine. He doesn't care at all about the fighters as people, and if you can read between the lines, you'd hear it from his own mouth. He said that he admired that Big Nog actually cares about his fighters. Take that one step further and you see that Dana himself doesn't care a bit about any of them, and he's seeing Big Nog's altruism from a distance, as an outsider to altruism. If someone else had said the exact same words, I'd have taken them differently, but from Dana it was like Big Nog was some creature from Mars who actually cared about people, strange as that was to Dana.
I see Dana as Machiavelli. Utterly self absorbed. What's in it for me?
